You could incorporate it into your diet as golden milk or a tea by mixing a teaspoon in warm water with honey.

Licorice root is soothing, acting as a demulcent which coats the throat, providing relief from irritation and inflammation. It’s often taken as a powder mixed with honey or warm water, but if you have high blood pressure, you should be cautious, since licorice can exacerbate it.

Ginger’s heat helps balance Pitta but can be aggravating if you overdo it, especially if the inflammation is intense. Maybe try a light ginger tea—simmer fresh slices in water, just to maintain its subtle warmth rather than intense heat.

Sitopaladi Churna and Chyawanprash are also excellent. Sitopaladi, often consumed with honey, clears kapha dosha from the respiratory tract, strengthening lung function. Chyawanprash is more about building immunity over time—rich in vitamin C from amla, it’s best taken daily in the morning with warm milk.
