To help identify the root cause of your concern, please provide the following information: What was the date of your last menstrual period? What is your regular eating pattern throughout the day? Are you currently experiencing any stress? If yes, please specify the type and intensity. Is your sleep pattern normal? How many hours do you sleep, and do you feel rested? Once I receive these details, I will be able to provide you with a personalized treatment plan, including proper medication and dietary recommendations.

The discomfort on your left side, especially associated with bowel movement difficulties, may well, be tied to digestive imbalances. In Ayurveda, such concerns often arise from an imbalance in Vata dosha, which governs motion. When Vata gets accumulated or aggravated, it may lead to constipation or irregular bowel movements.

As for your delayed menses, stress and digestive disturbances can indeed play a part in that. Agni, or digestive fire, plays a central role in maintaining overall balance and proper elimination. When agni is low, it can affect both digestion and the menstrual cycle.

To address these, begin by increasing your intake of warm, easy-to-digest foods like warm soups, stews, or kitchari. Avoid cold, raw, or processed foods as they can increase Vata. Drinking a glass of warm water first thing in the morning can help stimulate bowel movements. It’s often beneficial to include a teaspoon of ghee with warm water, as ghee acts as a natural lubricant for the intestines.

Introduce triphala in your daily regimen. Triphala, a classical Ayurvedic formula, supports regular bowel function. A half teaspoon of triphala powder with warm water before bed can be particularly helpful. Make sure you give it a few days to see its effect.

Engage in gentle exercises like yoga, focusing on poses that stimulate the lower abdomen – think twisting poses or gentle forward bends. These can foster better circulation and release tension in the digestive area.

Stress could delay your menstrual period, too. Try incorporating a short meditation or breathing practice, perhaps 10 minutes daily, to calm Vata and reduce stress. If the issue persists, do visit a healthcare provider to ensure there are no underlying concerns needing immediate attention. It’s always good to be watchful!
