Hello, grade 4 Varicose veins are difficult to be managed with medication and surgery is ideal if there severe itching or ulcers are there. Ayurveda can help in reducing the intensity of symptoms but the veins may not go back to their normal structure. There is a treatment known as with the Viddhakarma which helps in reducing the pain, swelling and itching around the veins… Tab Triphala Guggulu 2-2-2 will help in reducing swelling and pain in the meantime. Avoid standing a lot, pushing stools, grunting or wearing tight clothing. You can wear stockings to manage blood against pooling.

For Grade 4 varicose veins, where surgery has been advised, Ayurveda offers treatments that focus on improving blood circulation, reducing venous pressure, and strengthening vein walls. Your wife’s thyroid condition and obesity may also be contributing factors, as these can lead to aggravated Kapha and impaired blood flow (Rakta Dhatu).

In Ayurveda, therapies such as leech therapy (Jalaukavacharana), Panchakarma (Virechana) for detoxification, and local treatments like Abhyanga (therapeutic massage with medicated oils) can be beneficial in managing varicose veins. Herbs like Punarnava, Guggulu, and Triphala may help reduce inflammation and promote venous health. Additionally, maintaining a Kapha-pacifying diet, regular gentle exercise, and elevating the legs can support overall circulation and weight management. It’s essential to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner for a personalized treatment plan tailored to her specific condition.

Ah, varicose veins can be quite a thing, especially when surgery isn’t what she wants. No worries, Ayurveda’s got some cool moves to help manage this. Start with understanding that varicose veins are about those dosha imbalances, mainly pitta and vata. Their involvement tends to heat things up and dry things out, creating issues in the veins.

First things first—diet. She should aim for a cooling and nourishing diet that pacifies pitta and vata. Encourage more whole grains, like quinoa and brown rice, along with green leafy veggies, and emphasize juicy fruits like grapes & oranges. She should avoid spicy and oily stuff, along with caffeine and alcohol, as they are more likely to flare things up.

Now, lifestyle—it plays a huge role. Walking regularly, like 20 to 30 mins daily, is quite good—it keeps the blood flowin’ without overstraining those veins. But she should dodge standing or sitting for long periods; leg elevation for a bit can help a lot. Rest and relaxation also maintains balance.

Therapeutic massage is also super helpful here. Encourage gentle massage with warm herbal oils like sesame or mahavishgarbha taila, as they improve circulation and reduce swelling. She should massage in upward strokes, starting from the foot, moving toward the heart.

There’s also beneficial herbs she might consider, like gotu kola, as it strengthens veins, and Guggul for its anti-inflammatory props. Sip away on teas made with herbs like ginger and turmeric, which are anti-inflammatory and aid circulation,

Consistency is key, so slowly incorporating these changes will help. But, if her symptoms worsen – like unbearable pain or ulcers - she really should see a medical professional. Varicose veins can sometimes lead to complications. Always patient safety first.
