To prevent tooth decay and maintain strong teeth using Ayurveda, it’s vital to address both lifestyle and dietary factors. Firstly, a balanced diet rich in calcium, vitamin D, and minerals fortifies teeth. Include more dairy products like milk, yogurt and leafy greens like spinach. Chew on sesame seeds occasionally; they help to remove plaque and supply calcium. Minimize sugary foods and drinks that can promote decay. Drinking water after meals can help wash away food particles and bacteria.

For oral hygiene, use an herbal toothpaste containing neem or clove oil. These have natural antibacterial properties and enhance gum health. Dabur Red Paste is available in many markets and it combines both these elements effectively. Avoid very abrasive toothpaste or excessive brushing pressure, which could damage tooth enamel.

Oil pulling is an amazing Ayurvedic practice that can significantly improve oral health. Use sesame oil or coconut oil for oil pulling. Swish a tablespoon of the oil in your mouth for 15 to 20 minutes, daily in the morning on an empty stomach before rinsing with warm water. Spit it out in the trash to avoid clogging drains.

Triphalan is also quite supporting; it’s know to maintain oral bacteria balance, aiding gum health. Simply mix half a teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water and use it for gargling.

Herbal concoction like amalaki tonic can give a boost to oral health as well. Amalaki, being rich in vitamin C, supports collagen production and fortifies gum health. You can consume the amla fruit in dried form or as a supplement.

Lastly, ensure you are brushing correctly twice a day and flossing to remove any food particles lodged between teeth. Reducing mental stress can lower the risk of bruxism, which wears on teeth over time.

Consistency is key; all these measures work best in unison. Regular dental check-ups are essential as early identification of issues eases management. As minor decay signals, it is wise to consult with dental professionals for preventive care or necessary interventions.

To prevent tooth decay and maintain strong, white teeth according to Siddha-Ayurveda, addressing the root cause tied to your dosha imbalances and oral hygiene practices is key. Tooth decay is often associated with an imbalance in the kapha dosha, leading to a build-up of ama (toxins) in the oral cavity. Strengthening your oral cavity’s resistance and removing such build-up can reverse early-stage decay.

Begin by using a herbal toothpaste that contains neem and clove, which are known for their antibacterial properties. Neem helps in removing bacteria and reducing plaque, while clove is excellent for its analgesic effect on toothaches. Choose a toothpaste without added chemicals to avoid further agni (digestive/fire) disturbances.

For a home-made solution, try oil pulling. Use a tablespoon of coconut oil and swish it in your mouth for 10-15 minutes every morning before brushing. This practice, known in Ayurveda as “kavala,” can help draw out toxins and reduce bacterial load.

Regular Ayurvedic mouthwash can also be helpful. Prepare a natural rinse by boiling two cups of water with equal parts of triphala powder and licorice root. Use this as a mouthwash twice daily, as it helps in maintaining the pH balance in the oral cavity.

Incorporate a diet that supports your oral and digestive health. Avoid excessive sugars and refined foods, as these can exacerbate kapha and increase the risk of decay. Instead, opt for fiber-rich foods, leafy greens, and crunchy vegetables which naturally cleanse the teeth.

If the decay progresses or if you experience discomfort, it’s crucial to contact a dental professional promptly. While these Ayurvedic practices can bolster oral health, they are not substitutes for professional dental care when necessary.
