HELLO, If you have been diagnosed with MRKH , the absence of periods is not because of lifestyle , diet, or something you did wrong. It is a congenital (present from birth) condition. WHAT IS MRKH? Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome is a condition where -The uterus is absent or underdeveloped -the vagina may be short or partially formed -ovaries are usually normal -hormones are normal -breast development and body hair are normal Because the uterus is absent or very small, menstrual bleeding can’t happen- periods, require a functioning uterus So in MRKH, the reason for not getting periods is- There is no functional uterus to shed lining each month It is usually not genetic, and many families have no history- so your parents and grandparents being “normal” is common IMPORTANT TRUTH If you truly have MRKH There is currently no medical, surgical, or Ayurvedic treatment that can create a natural uterus or make periods start Anyone promising that is not being hones Ayurveda can’t create a uterus, but it can help with -hormonal balance if needed -emotional strength -stress and anxiety -overall reproductive vitality -supporting ovarian health SUPPORTIVE AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT These are supportive only- not a curative for MRKH 1) REJUVENATION -SHATAVARI KALPA= 1 tsp with warm milk in morning -ASHWAGANDHA CHURNA= 1 tsp with warm milk at bedtime -GUDUCHI GHAN VATI= 2 tabs twice daily after meals 2) VATA BALANCING -warm foods -avoid fasting/skipping meals -regular routine -oil massage with sesame oil MENTAL STRENGTH SUPPORT -BRAHMI VATI= 1 tab twice daily after meals -meditation -yoga especially pelvic circulation practices If not already done, you should have -pelvic ultrasound or MRI -Hormone profile FSH,LH,estrogen -Karyotyping to confirm 46XX Just to confirm the diagnosis properly ABOUT FUTURE FERTILITY If ovaries are normal -eggs are produced -IVF with gestational surrogate is possible -In some countries, uterine transplant is being researched So motherhood is still possible in many cases You are not abnormal You are not less of a woman This condition does not define your worth Many women with MRKH live full, healthy, married, and even motherhood lives DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU

–In MRKH, because the uterus is missing or very small, there is no lining to shed, so no periods can happen. –There is no treatment to start periods, but she can live a normal, healthy life. If you wants children in the future, options like IVF with a surrogate may be possible.

Hello I can understand your concern MRKH is a congenital disorder where -Uterus is absent or underdeveloped -Upper part of vagina may be short or absent -ovaries are usually normal As there is no functional uterus, menstrual bleeding does not occur CAN YOU GET YOUR PERIODS IN MRKH? This is very important to understand honestly If there is complete absence of uterus Menstrual periods cannot occur naturally Because periods require Functional uterus lining ( endometerium) No uterus= no bleeding BUT LISTEN CAREFULLY If ovaries are normal -You can have female hormones -you have normal feminity -You can have biological children through IVF + surrogacy ( if ovaries are present) FIRST MAKE A CONFIRM DIAGNOSIS - USG ( abdomen and pelvis) -Hormonal profile There are usually 2 types 1. Only uterus is affected 2.Associated with kidney or spine abnormalities You are not alone I can understand it is difficult But be strong Wishing you a good health 😊 Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

MRKH (Mayer–Rokitansky–Küster–Hauser syndrome) is a congenital condition where the uterus is absent or underdeveloped. Because of this, Ayurvedic or allopathic medicines cannot induce periods — menstruation requires a functional uterus and endometrium.

Hi dear, in MRKH conditions even though your uterus is underdeveloped and menstruation is not happening, you do have functional ovaries. Meaning you can be a mother biologically. And the presence of ovaries will ensure you have all the hormonal support you need for your health. Don’t think you are abnormal in any way. Although this disease is genetic it doesn’t mean this is an inherited disease. It is possible that none of your family had this condition and no your children won’t inherit this from you either. In a world where technology is this progressed assisted pregnancy is really common, you are in no way abnormal or less than anybody. Try to think about life positively. Adoption is also always an option. Even uterus transplantation procedures are also being studied. We can’t essentially cure your condition but you will always have options available.

If you have been diagnosed with MRKH, the most important thing to understand is this: In MRKH, the uterus is either absent or underdeveloped from birth. Because of that, periods do not occur — not because of hormones alone, but because the organ required for menstruation is not fully formed. This is not caused by something your parents did. It is not due to diet, lifestyle, or family mistake. It happens during fetal development. Many times there is no family history. If ovaries are present and functioning (which is common in MRKH), you may have normal hormones, normal breast development, and normal female features — but no menstrual flow because there is no functional uterus lining to shed. In true MRKH, medicines — whether allopathic, homeopathic, or Ayurvedic — cannot create a uterus or start periods if the uterus is absent. So the “solution” depends on: • Is uterus completely absent or partially formed? • Are ovaries normal? • Was MRI done? If uterus is absent: Periods cannot be induced. Fertility options in future may involve assisted reproductive methods with surrogacy if ovaries are healthy. If uterus is partially formed: Then management depends on structure and hormonal status. This condition needs proper gynecological evaluation, not herbal trials. Please understand — you are not “abnormal.” MRKH is a congenital anatomical condition. It does not reduce your femininity, health potential, or life quality. The next right step is: Review your diagnostic reports carefully with a specialist. If you want, you can share your scan findings in consultation so we can clearly understand your specific type of MRKH and guide you realistically about future options. False hope is harmful in this condition. Correct information and proper planning are what truly help.

There is no way to create a functional uterus or make natural periods start in complete MRKH (type 1 or type 2). The uterus is absent or extremely rudimentary = no endometrium means no bleeding/periods. ✓Realistic solutions & next steps 1. Confirm diagnosis 100% (urgent) Pelvic ultrasound + MRI pelvis (to see absent uterus/vagina, normal ovaries) Karyotype (46,XX – to rule out androgen insensitivity or other intersex conditions) Hormone profile (FSH, LH, estradiol, AMH – usually normal) 2. For periods You can take combined oral contraceptive pills (estrogen + progesterone) cyclically - will cause regular withdrawal bleeding every 28 days (artificial periods). This does not mean you have a real uterus or can get pregnant naturally - it is only for cycle regulation, bone health & psychological benefit. Dose example: Yasmin / Femilon / Novelon - 1 pill daily for 21 days then 7 days break and repeat. 3. For future pregnancy Natural pregnancy impossible (no uterus). Options: Surrogacy (your eggs + husband’s sperm + surrogate mother) = very successful in MRKH Uterus transplant Vaginal creation (if vagina is short/absent) Non-surgical: vaginal dilators (Frank method) – very effective, start under gynaecologist guidance Surgical: vaginoplasty (McIndoe or Vecchietti) – if dilators fail 4. Emotional & overall health support Join MRKH support groups (Facebook/Reddit/Indian MRKH groups) – talking to others helps a lot Counselling / psychologist – very important at 25 years (identity, marriage, future anxiety) Regular exercise + yoga (moderate) – improves energy & mood Diet: iron-rich (beetroot, pomegranate, dates) + calcium + vitamin D (bone health) Regards Dr Gursimran Jeet Singh MD Panchakarma
