You should not take Mahasankha Vati directly with your anti hypertensive medicine. A primary ingredient in Mahasankha Vati is Saindhava Lavana (Rock Salt) and other salts. For individuals on BP medication, especially diuretics, maintaining a low sodium diet is often a clinical priority. Added salt intake can potentially interfere with the efficacy of your blood pressure management. Mineral Compounds: It contains processed minerals and ash (Bhasmas) like Shanka Bhasma (Conch shell ash). While these are excellent for neutralizing acid, they can interact with the absorption of certain allopathic drugs if taken at the same time. Kshara (Alkaline substances): The alkaline nature of the tablet is designed to balance stomach acid, but it can occasionally affect how the body processes other medications. Recommendations for Use : 1. The Two-Hour Rule: Never take Ayurvedic supplements and allopathic BP medications at the exact same time. Space them out by at least 2 hours to prevent absorption issues. 2. Monitor Your BP: Keep a close eye on your blood pressure readings for the first few days of starting the Vati to ensure there are no unexpected spikes. 3. Short-term Use: Mahasankha Vati is generally intended for acute digestive relief rather than long term daily consumption, which helps limit salt accumulation. I’m adding some alternatives which are more safe with your BP medicine for your gut health and digestive issues. They are like bilvadi gutika, jirakadhya arishta etc.

Yes, you can take if you have already Mahasankha vati but you can take only 1 tab after food only e times a day in lower dose we can decrease the risk. And keep gap of at least 2 hour between your BP medicine and this one. And remember don’t forget to monitor your BP.

Hello I can understand your concern regarding bloating which is since months And you are also having High blood pressure so you are concerned what to take and what not to which is very much understandable But dont worry i will guide you safely and honestly ▪️For your understanding Just think your digestive system as a fire When it is proper = food will get properly digested When it is irregular =then sometimes food gets digested sometimes it is undigested ▪️Whay is happening actually? Your food is not getting digested well For long duration it is staying in your gut leading to Bloating Heaviness ▪️Why your case has become chronic? Now your gut has become sensitive and hyperreactive So that now even normal food is not getting tolerated On top of this your BP medicine may make your digestion slow So we have to be more cautious ▪️About Mahasankha vati Yes it reduces bloating and also improves digestion But we have to consider your blood pressure Mahashankha vati contains little stronger ingredients Which may interact with your bp medications ▪️What to do instead then? ➖Gently correct your digestion -Have warm water throughout the day -Have a small piece of dry ginger with pinch of salt before your meals -After your food have jeera and saunf infused water ➖Ayurvedic plan of treatment You can go for plain shankha vati 1 tablet thrice daily after food ➖Hinguvachadi gulika 2 tablets just before your lunch ▪️Diet plan ➖include -have warm and freshly prepared home made food -have light meals like khichadi without much spice -Have regular meal timning -Have buttermilk after lunch ❌Avoid -outside junk food -Fermented food -Reheated food ▪️Simple tips -have a gentle walk after your meals -Manage stress With consistent medication and diet modification you can feel relief Do follow up after 30 days Wishing you a good gut health😊 Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

Mahashankha Vati is a strong classical Ayurvedic medicine mainly used for deep digestive issues like indigestion bloating gas constipation and weak Agni but in your situation you need to be a little careful If you are already on high BP medication Mahashankha Vati is not always the first safe choice because it contains ingredients that are Ushna and Tikshna in nature which can sometimes increase heat in the body and may indirectly influence blood pressure in sensitive individuals Also if your stomach problem is mainly acidity burning sensation or gastritis type then Mahashankha Vati can sometimes aggravate that instead of helping If your issue is more like heaviness gas poor digestion constipation then it can be useful but only in a low dose and under supervision Better safer options in your case would be Avipattikar churna if acidity burning is dominant Hinguvachadi gulika if gas bloating is dominant Jeerakarishta or Amrutha aristha if digestion is weak So answer is yes you can take Mahashankha Vati but not blindly and not as a first line especially with BP medicines and without knowing your exact symptoms Tell me clearly your main symptoms like gas acidity constipation loose motions or pain then I can guide you more precisely and safely

Maha shankhavati is usually used for abdominal problem involving pain ,it works better. Also it has salt content ,so it is not advisable to use regularly for longer periods with blood pressure problem. For bloating there are safer ayurvedic medicine can be used for long period. You can take Tablet biogest for bloating issues, Also add heposem syrup, will improve digestion and prevent bloating, gas formation. Jeerakarisht will help improve overall digestion strength. Recommended medication are attached here with the required dosage. Follow up after 15 days.

Dr. Heena kakwani

Yes, you can take Maha Shank Vati along with your anti-hypertensive medication. In Ayurveda, the approach is not just about restricting salt intake, but understanding the root cause of high blood pressure. Often, hypertension is linked to poor gut health and Vata aggravation. When digestion is weak, it can disturb Vata dosha, which in turn may contribute to increased blood pressure. Maha Shank Vati helps improve digestion and balance Vata, and the presence of salts in it supports this process rather than harming you. In your case, your gut health appears to be compromised, so this medicine may be beneficial for you. Since you are already on anti-hypertensive medication, it will not increase your blood pressure. You can take it for one month and observe the difference. For a deeper understanding of your condition and more personalized treatment, I would recommend booking

Hello, You can take Mahasankha vati for chronic bloating, but not blindly high Bp medication- this needs a bit of care. Your condition -long term bloating (>6 months)-> usually mandagni (low digestive fire) + vata imbalance -Symptoms suggest= aam (toxins from poor digestion), gas accumulation (vata in abdomen) About. Mahasankha vati It is a strong digestive stimulant used for -gas, bloating -indigestion -chronic digestive weakness It contains ingredients like shankha bhasma, trikatu, hing etc which -increase digestive fire -reduce gas -improve gut motility Important= with high Bp medication This is where caution is needed Possible concerns 1) Heating nature -can sometimes increase pitta-> may indirectly affect BP in sensitive people 2) Contains salts/mineral compounds= in some cases may interact with Bp balance or medications 3) Drug interaction risk= if you are on beta blockers, diuretics, ACE inhibitors-> combining without supervision is not ideal Can you take it? Yes, but only under these condition -low dose -after meals -monitor Bp regularly Safe Ayurvedic approach Betterplan Instead of directly jumping to Mahasankha vati, start with milder and safer options 1) First line -hing(pinch) + warm water after meals -jeera + ajwain water boiled -triphala 1 tsp with warm water at night very helpful for chronic cases 2) Diet correction most important -warm, freshly cooked meals -ginger + rock salt before meals small piece -buttermilk with roasted cumin daytime Avoid -cold food, fridge items -curd at night -heavy,oily, fried food -excess tea, coffee If using Mahasankha vati -Dose= 1 tab after meals max twice daily -Duration= short term initially for 5-7 days Stop If -burning sensation -increases Bp -acidity Root cause since your issue is > 6 months, tablets alone won’t fix it You likely need -digestion reset -mild detox ama removal -vata balancin routine Start with gentler remedies first-> often enough for bloating Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you

Namaste, Your concern — chronic bloating with ongoing BP medication — requires careful selection of medicines to avoid any unwanted interaction. Mahasankha Vati is useful for gas and indigestion, but it is a strong formulation and is not ideal for regular or long-term use, especially when you are on BP medicines. So, it is better not to take it routinely on your own. The focus should be on safe and mild digestion correction. Avoid heavy, oily, and gas-forming foods. Reduce excess tea/coffee and avoid eating late at night. Maintain fixed meal timings and avoid long gaps. Prefer warm, freshly cooked food and sip warm water through the day. Ayurvedic medicines with dose and timing: Dadimashtaka Churna – 1 teaspoon, twice daily with food Avipattikar Churna – 1 teaspoon at bedtime with warm water Jeerakadyarishta – 15 ml with equal water, twice daily after food These are traditionally used to reduce bloating, improve digestion, and regulate gut function in a gentle and safer way when combined with proper diet. Continue your BP medicines regularly and monitor pressure. With consistent care, improvement can be seen over a few weeks. Consultation can help tailor this further to your needs.

As I have seen you have mahashankh Vati and you are taking Triphala guglu and Aam panchak also All three medications are hot in potency it is great for treating chronic bloating and aam but medicine at once can some time cause acidity and burning sensation into your body Please priortized one medicine taking both arm pachak Vati and mahashankh Vati maybe too salty it is often better to use Aam pachak Vati first to clear the aam before moving to mahashankhvati So instead of taking both Aam pachak and mahashankh Vati please take one of them usually 30 minutes before or after meal Keep one our gap between BP medication and other Ayurvedic medications ensure you drink plenty of water throughout the day

Since you are on high blood pressure (BP) medication, caution is needed: -Mahasankha Vati has salt-based minerals (Shankha Bhasma) and pungent herbs that may sometimes aggravate acidity or affect electrolyte balance. -It is generally safe in moderate doses, but combining with BP medicines requires medical supervision to avoid unwanted interactions. Your symptom (bloating, moderate severity, >6 months): Mahasankha Vati can help relieve gas and improve digestion, but it should not be the only long-term solution. General Ayurvedic Guidance Dosage (general reference): 1 tablet (250mg) twice daily, after meals, with warm water. Anupana (vehicle): Warm water or buttermilk (if digestion is weak).

Yes you can have it alongwith your BP medicine. Recommended dose: 1 tablet twice daily after meals with warm water Duration: 4–6 weeks initially, then reassess. ✓While Mahasankha Vati can help, a gentler and more effective combination for chronic bloating with high BP is: Hingwashtak Churna – ½ tsp after lunch & dinner with warm water Avipattikar Churna – 3 gm at bedtime with warm water Arjunarishta – 10 ml + 30 ml warm water twice daily after meals ✓Continue your BP medicines exactly as prescribed. Monitor BP regularly (twice daily) for the first 2 weeks after starting any new medicine. ✓Diet: Avoid cold drinks, spicy/oily food, late dinner. Eat warm, light meals (moong khichdi, lauki, etc.). Do Vajrasana 10 min after meals. ✓Start with Hingwashtak Churna + Avipattikar Churna first for 2 weeks. If needed, add Mahasankha Vati later Regards Dr Gursimran Jeet Singh MD Panchakarma
