I understand your concern caring for her for so many years and now this increase in joint and body pain can be very difficult especially with a long history of multiple myeloma and stopping chemotherapy since many years In this condition the pain is usually not just simple knee problem it can be due to bone weakness long term disease effect and increase of vata in the body so treatment has to be gentle and supportive rather than aggressive First give her maximum rest avoid strain on knees use support while walking and keep the joints warm you can apply warm mahanarayana thailam or ksheerabala thailam over the knees and painful areas twice daily followed by mild heat this helps in reducing stiffness and gives some comfort Internally it is better to keep medicines simple and focused rather than many supplements together you can continue ashwagandha in small dose like half teaspoon at night with warm milk if she is tolerating Along with this start yograj guggulu one tablet twice daily after food with warm water for pain and stiffness and dashamoola kwath fifteen ml twice daily after food with equal quantity of warm water for reducing pain and inflammation If available gandha taila capsule one twice daily after food can be added for bone support Avoid giving too many ras medicines together for long duration as it may not suit her system now especially if digestion is weak Diet should be light warm and easy to digest give soft foods like rice with moong dal vegetable soups little ghee avoid cold dry and raw foods as they increase pain keep giving warm water in small quantities If pain is very severe you can consider gentle therapies like mild oil application regularly but avoid strong panchakarma Also it is important to check her calcium vitamin d and recent reports because in long standing multiple myeloma bone pain can increase due to weakness of bones so this should be monitored The aim now is to reduce pain improve comfort and maintain her strength slowly if you can share more details or reports I can guide you further based on her condition

This is a complex case (history of Multiple Myeloma + severe knee pain) Main cause of pain may be bone weakness, degeneration, or myeloma-related lesions, so aim is pain control + strength + comfort, not aggressive treatment Mahayograj Guggulu 1 tablet twice daily after food Lakshadi Guggulu 1 tablet twice daily (for bone support) Ashwagandha Churna ½ tsp with warm milk at night 👉 If digestion weak give with warm water instead of milk Shallaki (Boswellia) capsule – 1 capsule twice daily → Good natural pain reliever for joints If pain severe Trayodashang Guggulu – 1 tablet twice daily External Application Mahanarayan Taila massage (gentle) Follow with warm fomentation (hot cloth / steam) → 2 times daily If swelling / stiffness present Dashmool Kwath – 15 ml + water, twice daily Avoid heavy massage (bones may be fragile in myeloma) Avoid strong Panchakarma / detox Ensure calcium + vitamin D support (continue) Keep movement gentle (not complete bed rest)

Hello, Given the complex history of Multiple Myeloma, the severe knee pain is likely due to a combination of Sandhigata Vata (osteoarthritis) and potential bone density loss (common in long-term Myeloma). Since surgery is not an option, the goal is Vedana Shamana (pain management) and Asthi-Majja Pushti (nourishing the bone and marrow) using authentic In Ayurveda, this condition represents a high Vata state where the Shlesaka Kapha (synovial fluid) has depleted, leading to bone-on-bone friction. Given her history, we must balance Vata without being too heavy on the digestive system. Medicine : 1. Pinda Thailam (External): Apply gently over the knee joints twice daily. This is specifically indicated for pain associated with inflammatory conditions and bone weakness. Do not massage vigorously; use light circular strokes. 2. Ksheerabala (101) Capsules: Take 1 capsule twice daily before food. This is a potent “Avartana” (fortified) preparation that nourishes the nerves and bones, helping to reduce “Vata” related neuralgic and joint pain. 3. Yogaraja Guggulu Tablets: Take 2 tablets twice daily after food. This is the gold standard for joint pain and helps in clearing toxins from the musculoskeletal system. 4. Dhanwantharam Kwath (Tablet form): Take 2 tablets twice daily before food. It acts as a complete systemic tonic for the nervous and skeletal systems, particularly beneficial for those with long-standing chronic illness. 5. Kottamchukkadi Choornam: Mix this powder with warm water or tamarind leaf juice to make a paste. Apply as a “Lepa” (poultice) over the knees, leave for 30 minutes, and wash off with lukewarm water to reduce localized swelling and acute pain.

hello, ii would like to see her full reports including RA reports if you have done one. aside from knee joints what other joints does she have pain? is there any swelling, pain worsening in morning, stiffness? how is her appetite and what all medicies are she taking now? and whats her current diet like? also for a slight pain releif topical use mix 1 big spoon f the powder with 1 glass warm water and cook it over a tove till a paste consistancy. apply it iover the knees and other joints. add in a 1/2 a teaspoon of salt if there is swelling. wrap the knees with a kotton cloth after applying for atleast 6 hours. better to do that in the night and keep it wrapped over night, the results are better if you can cover the joint with arka patra or erand patra before wrapping. the other time apply the second lepa over the joints in a thick layer. internal medicines can only be advised after her reports are reviewed and hiostory is taken properly. continue these local treatments for 14 days and there will be good relief.

Your mother has a long history of illness (18+ years), and now she is experiencing severe knee pain and body pain. At this stage: The body tissues (especially bones and joints) have become weak and depleted Vata dosha is highly aggravated, which is the main cause of: Severe pain Difficulty in walking Low energy In simple terms: The joints have become weak and dry, so pain is more intense and recovery is slower. It is important to be clear and practical here: Complete reversal or cure of the joint condition may not be possible at this stage The main goal now is: ✔ Pain reduction ✔ Improving comfort and mobility ✔ Enhancing quality of life This is called palliative care — focusing on comfort and relief What Can Be Done Now? Since she is already taking multiple internal medicines, more medicines alone may not give sufficient relief At this stage, external and procedure-based therapies are more helpful Consult a nearby experienced Ayurvedic physician for procedure-based pain management: Marma Therapy → reduces pain and improves joint function Viddha Karma → helps relieve deep, chronic pain (or) Agnikarma → very effective for severe knee pain relief Keraliya panchakarma procedures -> helps reduce vata dosha, local lubrication improves. Supportive Measures at Home Gentle oil application (like Mahamasha Taila) Warm fomentation (heat) to knees Avoid excessive walking or strain At this stage: Right therapies + pain management = better comfort Rather than trying many supplements, focused local treatment will give better results With the right Ayurvedic procedures, pain can be reduced and daily comfort can improve, even if complete cure is not possible.

🩺 Important Medical Checks (Very Important) If not done recently, please consider: X-ray / MRI of knee (to rule out bone lesions) Serum calcium levels Vitamin D & B12 Kidney function (important in myeloma patients) 👉 If pain is increasing, a hematologist review is strongly advised. 🌿 Ayurvedic Approach (Safe & Practical) 1. External Therapies (Most Effective in her case) These will give real relief: Abhyanga (oil massage) with: Mahanarayan oil Dashmool oil Janu Basti (highly recommended) → Warm medicated oil retained on knee joint → Excellent for severe pain Nadi Swedana (steam therapy) → Reduces stiffness + improves circulation 👉 If you run TRIPT AYURVEDA, you can easily incorporate these therapies regularly (3–5 times/week initially) 2. Internal Ayurvedic Medicines (Adjust carefully ⚠️) She is already taking many rasayanas, but I would suggest rationalizing instead of increasing: Continue: Ashwagandha (good for strength) Shatavari (if tolerated) Add (after consulting your physician): Yograj Guggulu → for Vata + joint pain Lakshadi Guggulu → for bone strength Dashmool Kwath → reduces inflammation ⚠️ Be cautious with: Excess Shilajit (can burden kidneys in myeloma) Multiple rasa preparations together (like Pushpadhanwa Ras) 3. Diet (Very Important) Focus on Vata-pacifying + bone nourishing diet ✔ Give: Warm, soft foods (khichdi, soups) Cow ghee (small amounts daily) Sesame seeds (til) Almond milk (if digestible) ❌ Avoid: Cold foods, curd at night Dry, stale food Excess raw salads 4. Simple Home Remedies Hot fomentation (daily) Castor oil + dry ginger paste (local application for pain) Turmeric milk at night (if digestion allows) 5. Gentle Movement (Don’t stop completely) Even with pain: Light movement is necessary Bed rest will worsen stiffness 👉 Try: Passive knee bending Supported walking (very short distance) 💊 Pain Relief (Don’t hesitate here) If pain is “very severe and unbearable”, Ayurveda alone may not be enough. 👉 It is completely okay to use: Mild painkillers (under doctor guidance) calcium + Vitamin d supplements Pain control = better healing 🚫 not to do don’t ignore worsening pain don’t do aggressive therapies or strong panchakarma in her condition

First—this is not just “normal knee pain.” In a case like long-standing Multiple Myeloma + age 60, this pain is usually due to: Bone weakness (asthi kshaya) Vata aggravation (especially Sandhigata Vata) Possible degeneration + marrow weakness So treatment should be pain relief + bone nourishment + Vata control. Stop random supplementation (important correction) You mentioned: Ashwagandha Shatavari Shilajit Pushpadhanwa Ras. Adv-X-ray or MRI of knee Serum calcium, ALP Myeloma status (if not checked recently)m yograj guggul 1bd Mahayograj guggul 1bd Lakshadi guggul 1bd dashmoolarishta 15ml bd Abhyang& swedan matra basti ,janu basti

Given her long history of multiple myeloma (18 years) and now severe progressive knee and body pain, this situation needs a very cautious approach. In such patients, knee pain is not always only “joint pain” — it can be due to: • bone weakening (myeloma-related changes) • osteoporosis or fragility fractures • degeneration + long-term treatment effects • vitamin/mineral imbalance So simply increasing supplements may not help and sometimes can worsen burden on body. First priority should be re-evaluation, especially: • CBC, calcium, vitamin D • Kidney function • Bone scan / X-ray knee if not done recently • Myeloma follow-up (to rule out activity) For symptom relief and support: Reduce load on knees. Avoid walking long distances or standing for long time. Use a walker or support if needed. Warm fomentation can help reduce stiffness. Gentle passive movements only, no forceful exercises. At home, light oil application with warm sesame oil around knee can help comfort. Keep joints warm and avoid cold exposure. Given her condition, avoid unnecessary heavy combinations. Keep treatment simple: • Dashmool Kwath – 15 ml twice daily with warm water • Rasna Saptak Kwath – 15 ml twice daily • Shallaki (Boswellia) tablet – 1 tablet twice daily after food Pain may not fully disappear quickly, but this can help reduce inflammation and improve mobility safely. If pain is constant and severe, pain specialist input is also important for quality of life support. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
