Your daughter’s symptoms suggest a Kapha-dominant recurrent respiratory issue in Ayurveda, where excess mucus accumulates in the chest and throat. Heavy dairy foods like cheese, butter, and excess milk can sometimes aggravate Kapha and increase congestion in sensitive children. Foods to give: Warm moong dal khichdi Vegetable soups (carrot, bottle gourd, pumpkin) Soft rice with ghee in small quantity Warm ajwain water (very mild) Stewed apple or pear Light homemade food served warm Foods to reduce for a few weeks: Cheese Butter in excess Cold milk Curd/yogurt especially at night Ice cream, chocolates, packaged snacks, banana at night Simple Ayurvedic home remedies: 1 teaspoon honey + tiny pinch of dry ginger powder once daily (only because she is above 1 year) Mild turmeric in warm milk during daytime if tolerated Ajwain pouch warm fomentation near chest (not too hot) Steam in bathroom or humid environment for congestion Mustard oil with garlic lightly warmed and applied on chest/back Ayurvedic medicines Sitopaladi Churna — supports cough and mucus reduction Talisadi Churna — helps throat and chest congestion Kumarbharan Rasa — supports immunity in recurrent infections
