Xanthelasma in Ayurveda is commonly considered a result of Kapha-Pitta imbalance, impaired fat metabolism, and accumulation of Meda Dhatu (lipid/fat toxins) under the skin around the eyes. It often reflects deeper metabolic imbalance, especially related to cholesterol, liver function, and digestion. Ayurvedic Treatment Goal Improve fat metabolism Purify blood and liver function Reduce further deposits Support gradual shrinking of plaques naturally Ayurvedic Medicines Arogyavardhini Vati – 1 tablet twice daily after meals for liver and lipid metabolism. Triphala Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily helps reduce fatty deposits and detoxification. Kanchanar Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily supports abnormal tissue growth reduction. Mahamanjisthadi Kwath – 15–20 ml with equal water twice daily for blood purification. Diet & Lifestyle Eat light, warm, low-oily food Increase green vegetables, barley, garlic, turmeric, and warm water Daily exercise/walking for 30–40 minutes Avoid: Fried food Cheese, butter, excess sweets Red meat and junk food Daytime sleeping and sedentary lifestyle Important Advice Ayurveda can help in: Preventing progression Improving metabolism Reducing chances of recurrence Sometimes gradually reducing small lesions But already formed thick xanthelasma plaques may not disappear completely with medicines alone and can require minor dermatological procedures for cosmetic removal. Even after removal, recurrence is common if cholesterol and metabolism are not corrected internally. For best results, combine Ayurvedic internal treatment with proper lipid profile monitoring and healthy lifestyle correction for at least 3–6 months.

From an Ayurveda perspective, xanthelasma can be related to Kapha-Meda dushti (fat metabolism imbalance) with mild Pitta involvement. Since you also have cholesterol issues, treatment should focus on improving agni (metabolism), meda dhatu balance, and liver function. ----Ayurveda may help reduce progression and improve appearance gradually, but permanent removal is not always guaranteed, especially in older or larger plaques. —rx 1. Arogyavardhini Vati – 2 tab twice daily after meal 2. Medohar Guggulu – 1 tab twice daily after meal 3. Triphala Guggulu –1 tab twice daily after meal 4. Gandhak Rasayan – 1 tab twice daily after meal 5. Mahamanjisthadi Kwath –15 ml +15 ml water twice daily after meal —Local Application Apply Kumkumadi taila or Haridra + aloe vera gel paste gently over the lesion at night (avoid rubbing eyes). —Pathya (Diet & Lifestyle) Strictly reduce: fried food, bakery items, cheese, excess sugar, red meat, packaged snacks. Increase: warm water, barley, green vegetables, garlic, turmeric, amla. Daily brisk walking/yoga for 30–40 minutes. Manage stress and maintain proper sleep. —Important Advice Please also monitor: Lipid profile Liver function Blood sugar Thyroid profile ----If the plaque becomes thick or continues enlarging, modern procedures like laser/cautery may sometimes be needed along with Ayurvedic correction to reduce recurrence.

Hello Xanthelasma can be difficult to deal with and frustrating, especially when it is persisting for months and also affects your appearance But let me tell you this is not your usual skin problem but a reflection of deep seated cholesterol imbalance and imbalance in fat metabolism 🔹From your history -Your lesions is present for more than 6 months -Gradually will increase in size and number -It is associated with cholesterol issues -Itching So the main root cause is hyperlipedemia If done share your recent lipid profile 🔹Can Ayurveda help in this condition? Ayurveda can help in -Improving Fat metabolism -Reducing progression -supports liver function -Helps in Improving liver function And also helps in controlling cholesterol level naturally 🔹But… I want to be honest and clear Existing Xanthalesma deposit may not completly disappear with just internally medication You may need other procedures like -Kshara karma -Medicated paste application over the deposits You need to visit nearby Ayurvedic physician for this procedure This is a classical ayurvedic treatment for xanthelasma 🔹Ayurvedic plan of treatment This will help you in correct cholesterol and metabolism Which will prevent further deposits 1. Medohar Vidangadi loha 1 tablets twice daily after food 2.Triphala guggulu 1 tablets twice daily after food 3.Triphala churna 1 tsp at bed time with warm water 🔹Diet correction ▪️INCLUDE -Warm light food -Warm water with lemon morning empty stomach -Garlic -Amla -Intake of fiber rich food -Drink. Warm water throughout the day ▪️AVOID -Bakery food -Sugar items -Maida -Processed food 🔹Physical activity -Do daily 30-45 mins walking -Reducing the weight 🔹About permanent removal First try Kshara karma You can also try -Laser -Cautery -or surgical removal My personal suggestion go for kshara karma Wishing you a good health 😊 Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

Hello, In Ayurveda, Xanthelasma is considered a Medodhatu Vikara a metabolic disorder involving the accumulation of fat (Meda) and the vitiation of Kapha dosha. It often manifests due to underlying dyslipidemia (imbalanced cholesterol levels) or metabolic stagnation.
Because you are a medical practitioner, you likely understand that while topical interventions may offer temporary cosmetic relief, the Ayurvedic goal is to address the systemic “root” of the lipid metabolism issue to prevent recurrence.
Systemic Detox: Ayurveda focuses on Lekhana (scraping/reducing) therapies to mobilize and clear deposited lipids.
Metabolic Correction: Treatment prioritizes Deepana (stoking digestive fire) and Pachana (digestive detoxification) to prevent the formation of further Ama (metabolic toxins). Internal Balancing: The goal is to regulate the liver and lipid metabolism, which are often the underlying drivers of these deposits. Prescription : 1. Aragwadadi Kwath: Acts as a blood purifier and supports the clearing of metabolic channels.
Dose: 15 ml with 60 ml of boiled and cooled water, twice daily before food. 2. Pancha tikta Ghritam: Contains Guggulu, a potent herb used to scrape lipid deposits and balance Kapha and Medas. Dose: 1 teaspoon (5g) with warm water on an empty stomach in the morning. 3. Triphala Churna: Essential for regular bowel detoxification and maintaining systemic Pitta-Kapha balance. Dose: 1 teaspoon (approx. 3–5g) at bedtime with warm water. Mandatory Lipid Profile: Before initiating internal medications, ensure a current Lipid Profile (including HDL, LDL, VLDL, and Triglycerides) is performed.
Professional Oversight: Since you are managing a clinic, consult with an experienced Ayurvedic physician to determine if Virechana (therapeutic purgation) is indicated for your specific constitutional type (Prakriti), as this is often considered the gold standard for metabolic lipid disorders.
Minimize high-cholesterol, fried, and refined sugar foods. Focus on Lekhana (light/digestible) foods to assist the medication’s efficacy.

Xanthelasma is a condition which is seen mainly in increased cholesterol level. It is difficult to completely cure the already occured through medicines. You can prevent from further new comings. What about your sugar levels and thyroid function. If not tested you may go for a Blood Sugar test both PP, Fasting and HbA1C, also Thyroid function test. You may start with the following medicines for 2 weeks 1. Varanadi Kashayam - 15ml kashayam with 45ml luke warm water, before food, at 6am and 6pm 2. Kanchara Guggulu , 1 tablet with kashayam, twice daily 3. Avipathy Churna - 10g/1 teaspoon with honey and 1 glass of hotwater at night after food

• Varanadi Kashayam (200ml) - Kairali (200ml) — x1 • Kanchanar Guggulu (Kanchanaragulgulu Gulika 60 Nos) - Kerala Ayurveda (Kanchanaragulgulu Gulika 60 Nos) — x1 • Avipathi Choornam (50 Gm) - Kerala Ayurveda (Avipathi Choornam 50 Gm) — x2

To give you a permanent solution, we must approach it with a strict, dual-line of treatment: Abhyantara Chikitsa (internal systemic correction) to fix the root cause, and Bahir-parimarjana / Shastra-kruta Chikitsa (local para-surgical removal) for the existing plaque. The Comprehensive Ayurvedic Protocol 1. Mandatary Initial Step: Diagnostic Assessment ••Before taking any medicine or trying home remedies, you must get a complete fasting Lipid Profile test and a Fasting Blood Glucose / HbA1c test. •Even if your external body weight is normal, your internal lipid metabolism or liver enzymes may be deranged. Knowing your exact LDL, Triglycerides, and VLDL levels allows us to target the exact internal pathology (Samprapti Vighatana). 2. Abhyantara Chikitsa (Internal Systemic Correction) ••To stop the body from producing and depositing new cholesterol plaques, we use herbs that possess Lekhana (scraping), •Deepana (digestive fire igniting), and Kapha-Medohara (fat-dissolving) properties:
••Medohara Guggulu or Navaka Guggulu: Guggulu is the premier Ayurvedic drug for regulating lipid metabolism and clearing fat from tissues. (Dosage: Generally 2 tablets twice a day, after meals with warm water). ••Arogyavardhini Vati: This balances liver function (Yakrut uttejana) and clears Ama (metabolic toxins) from the blood and fat tissue. (Dosage: 1 tablet twice a day). ••Mustakarishta or Varunadi Kwath: These act as potent Lekhana formulations that scrape away deep-seated fat deposits from the micro-channels. ••Pathya-Apathya (Diet & Lifestyle Modification) Without dietary changes, no treatment can offer a permanent cure. ••Avoid (Apathya): Heavy, oily, deep-fried foods, processed dairy (cheese, paneer), refined sugar, excess salt, and daytime sleeping (Diva-svapna), which severely vitiates Kapha and Meda. ••Adopt (Pathya): Include Katuka (bitter) and Tikta (pungent) tastes in your diet. Drink lukewarm water throughout the day. Incorporate barley (Yava), green gram (Mudga), honey, and garlic (cooked in food) into your daily meals

In Ayurveda, these physical plaques are viewed as an external manifestation of an internal imbalance. Specifically, they point to an aggravation of Meda Dhatu (fat tissue) and an underlying weakness in Medovahi Srotas (the channels responsible for fat metabolism). To address this condition naturally, local external therapies are used to soften and minimize the visible plaques. Applying a tiny pinch of turmeric mixed with honey directly to the spots for 10 to 15 minutes helps reduce localized inflammation. For overnight care, gently massaging a single drop of warm castor oil into the area boosts local blood circulation and works to soften the hardened tissue. Pure aloe vera gel can also be used as a soothing, nutrient-rich layer to protect and nourish the delicate, sensitive skin around the eyes. Because these deposits originate from internal lipid imbalances, internal purification is a critical step in the management protocol. Classical Ayurvedic formulations such as Medohara Guggulu, Triphala, and pure Guggulu are traditionally prescribed to stimulate fat metabolism and help normalize overall lipid profiles. These herbs work systematically to scrap away excess fat accumulation from the channels of the body. Alongside fat metabolism, optimizing liver health is vital for sustained improvement. Incorporating deep-acting blood purifiers like Amla and Manjistha supports the liver in efficiently processing and breaking down circulating fats. This combined approach of targeted local applications, lipid-balancing formulations, and robust liver support addresses both the cosmetic appearance and the root metabolic cause of the deposits.

Ayurvedic medicines may help slow progression and sometimes reduce small lesions over months, but large or established xanthelasma often require procedural removal (laser, cautery, radiofrequency, or surgery). Even after removal, recurrence can happen if cholesterol remains uncontrolled. You can take Triphala Guggulu-2 tablets twice daily after meals Arogyavardhini Vati-1 tablet twice daily after meals Punarnava Mandur-2 tab twice daily Kanchanar Guggulu-2 tablets twice daily This will not dissolve plaques quickly but may help inflammation and skin health. Avoid Fried foods Bakery items Excess ghee/butter Processed foods Red meat excess Sugary foods Reheated oils Smoking/alcohol if applicable Prefer Warm light meals Oats Barley Green vegetables Garlic in food Turmeric Amla

Hello, Xanthelasma appears as yellowish , soft, flat or slightly raised patches on the eyelids, usually near the inner corners of the eyes It is painless, non-itchy, and slow growing, which is why many people ignore it for years Although modern medicine considers it mainly a cholesterol-related skin deposition. Ayurveda explains it more deeply as a metabolic imbalance inside the body Even when blood cholestrol is normal, ayurveda still treats it seriously it reflects faulty fat metabolism and poor tissue nutrition In ayurveda, your wife’s condition can be explained as A) dosha involvement -kapha dosha (main culprit)-> causes heaviness, oiliness, accumulation -pitta dosha (associated)-> affects blood and skin coloration What actually goes wrong inside -digestive fire (agni) becomes weak -fat metabolism becomes sluggish -improper fat particles circulate in blood -these get deposited in weak areas eyelid skin -over years, visible yellow plaques form This is why xanthelasma is considered : “a sign of internal imbalance, not just a skin disease” Hence, treatment must be systematic and long term , not cosmetic Treatment goals -correct fat metabolism -purify blood -remove kapha accumulation -prevent recurrence -improve skin quality naturally Internal treatment Medicines to correct fat metabolism 1) triphala guggulu= 1 tab twice daily after meals with warm water =reduces abnormal fat deposits, improves tissue metabolism, prevents further accumulation - medohar guggulu= 2 tabs twice dialy after meals (alternative to triphala guggulu) =classical medicine for meda imbalance, helps reduce lipid deposits naturally Medicines for blood purification 2) manjistha ghan vati= 1 tab twice daily with warm water =purifies blood, improves skin tone, helps reabsorption of deposits 3) sarivadyavsava= 15ml twice daily after meals with equal water =excellent rakta sodrana mediicne, reduces chroni skin manifestations Digestive and metabolic support 4) trikatu churna= 2gm before meal with honey =improves digestion, breaks kapha accumulation, enhances action of other mediicnes Mild detox support 5) triphala churna= 1 tsp at night with warm water =gentle detox, improves bowel movement, prevents toxin accumulation External treatment External therapy helps appearance, but internal treatment is mandatory Herbal paste(once daily) -lodhra + manjistha + haridra powder -mix with rose water -apply thin layer on patches for 15-20 min =scraping action, improvs skin color, reduces thickness gradually Avoid eye contact Home remedies -warm water throughout the day -buttermilk with roasted cumin daily -garlic (1 small clove/day if tolerated) -triphala water occassionally Avoid lemon, vinegar , strong acids near eyes Diet -barley -green gram -bitter vegetables karela, neem -steamed vegetables -old rice -warm, freshly cooked meals Avoid -fried foods -bakeryitems -cheese, panner -excess milk at night -sugar and sweets -cold drinks Diet is 50% of treatment in kapha disorders Lifestyle changes -no daytime sleep -early dinner before 8 pm -daily brisk walk 30-45 min -avoid excessive screen time at night -stress reduction very important Yoga asana -surya namaskar -paschimottanasana -ardha matsyendrasana Pranayam -kapalbhati = improves metabolism -anulom vilom= balances doshas -bhramari= stress reduction Duration of treatment -visible improvement= 2-3 months -significant reduction= 4-6 months -complete management=6-9 months Stopping early can cause recurrece Xantheasma is not dangerous, but it signals internal imbalance Ayurveda offers safe, root level correction Patience and consistency are essential Results are gradual but long lasting Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you

Xanthelasma is usually linked with cholesterol/fat metabolism issues. Ayurveda may help support lipid balance, but cannot guarantee permanent removal of existing plaques. What to do: Reduce fried foods, sweets, processed foods, and excess saturated fats Daily 30–45 min walking/exercise Check lipid profile regularly Supportive Ayurvedic options: Arogyavardhini Vati – 1 tablet twice daily after food Triphala churna – 1 tsp at bedtime Existing xanthelasma often responds better to dermatology procedures (laser, cautery, excision) if cosmetic removal is desired. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)

1.Medohara vidangadi lauh 2 tab twice daily with water after meals 2.Arogyavardhini vati 2 tab twice daily with water after meals 3.Varunadi kwath 20 ml with 20 ml water twice daily after meals External Application (Localised Scraping) Because the skin around the eyes is incredibly delicate, never use harsh home remedies like raw garlic or apple cider vinegar, which can cause severe chemical burns and scarring. Instead, use a safe, classical Ayurvedic approach to soothe the itching and gently degrade the lipid plaque: -Triphala Hydro-Dermal Wash: Boil 1 teaspoon of Triphala powder in a glass of water, filter it thoroughly through a clean muslin cloth so no particles remain, and let it cool. Use a sterile cotton pad dipped in this warm water to gently compress the area for 5 minutes daily. This relieves the itching and cleanses the local tissue channels. -Eladi Churna / Triphala Paste: Mix a very small pinch of Eladi Churna or Triphala Churna with a few drops of warm water or honey to form a smooth, fine paste. Carefully apply it only onto the lesion, ensuring it does not enter the eye. Leave it for 10–15 minutes, then wash it off gently. Foods to Eliminate Immediately: Avoid all forms of processed fats, deep-fried foods, bakery items (cookies, cakes), heavy dairy (cheese, paneer, thick cream), and refined flour (maida). Minimize the use of heavy cooking oils; switch to small amounts of cow’s ghee or mustard oil. Foods to Include: Incorporate bitter and astringent foods that naturally scrape fat, such as bottle gourd (lauki), bitter gourd (karela), fenugreek seeds (methi), oats, barley, and garlic.
