Namaste, Hoarseness with AC/fan exposure and mild nasal congestion is usually related to throat sensitivity and dryness, sometimes along with mild allergy. Simple measures that may help: Avoid direct cold air from fan or AC on face and throat. Sip warm water throughout the day to keep throat moist. Do steam inhalation once daily to relieve nasal congestion. Avoid very cold foods, drinks, and ice items. You can do gentle salt water gargling for throat comfort. If Vicks is causing burning, it is better to avoid applying near nostrils, as the skin there is sensitive. Ayurvedic medicines sometimes used to support throat and nasal health include: Sitopaladi Churna – traditionally used to support throat comfort and reduce mild congestion. Anu Taila (nasya) – sometimes used in small quantity to support nasal passage health (only if suitable). Consult me for more advice and suggestions on the above medicines.

Voice becoming hoarse on exposure to fan or AC along with slight nasal congestion shows sensitivity of the upper airway where cold dry air irritates the throat lining and nasal passages and this dryness makes the vocal cords slightly inflamed leading to hoarseness the burning sensation with Vicks also indicates that the mucosa is already sensitive and reacting to strong menthol This can be managed by improving moisture and reducing irritation Agasthya Rasayanam one teaspoon twice daily after food helps in strengthening the respiratory system and reducing recurrent throat irritation Vyoshadi Vatakam one tablet twice daily after food to be slowly chewed helps in clearing mild congestion and soothing the throat Anu Tailam two drops in each nostril in the morning helps lubricate nasal passages and reduces dryness caused by AC and fan exposure and prevents irritation Warm water gargling with a pinch of turmeric and salt once daily helps reduce throat inflammation and protect vocal cords Avoid direct exposure to strong fan or AC air on face and throat keep airflow indirect and maintain good hydration through the day avoid very cold water refrigerated foods and frequent use of menthol based products as they can worsen dryness and irritation including a small amount of ghee in daily diet helps in internal lubrication and supports throat comfort over time
