Namaste, After gallbladder removal, digestion often becomes sensitive, especially for fats, which can lead to long-term diarrhea, gas, and bloating. In elderly patients, digestion becomes even weaker, so symptoms can persist. Simple understanding: Without gallbladder, bile flow is continuous but less concentrated, so fat digestion becomes difficult. This can cause gas, bloating, loose stools earlier, and now disturbed digestion. Simple measures that may help: Avoid oily, fried, and heavy foods, as they are difficult to digest. Since dairy triggers symptoms, reduce or avoid milk and milk products for now. Take small, frequent meals instead of large meals. Include light foods like rice, moong dal, vegetable soups, soft khichdi. After meals, do light walking (5–10 minutes) to aid digestion. Avoid late-night eating, as it worsens gas and sleep disturbance. Use simple home support like jeera, ajwain, saunf water. Because sleep is getting disturbed, digestion needs to be stabilized gently and consistently. Ayurvedic medicines that may support digestion include: Hinguvachadi Gulika – traditionally used to reduce gas and improve digestion. Dhanwantharam Gulika – sometimes used to support digestion and reduce bloating. Start with low doses and observe tolerance due to age. Consult me for more advice and suggestions on the above medicines.
