this appears to be primarily a Vata aggravation affecting the nerves and joints of the foot, with associated Pitta causing burning and mild inflammation. The burning pain worsened by standing and closed shoes suggests nerve compression with heat/inflammation. Treatment focuses on Vata-pacifying care with gentle Pitta calming — reducing pressure on the forefoot, using wider footwear, rest, mild cooling measures, and anti-inflammatory support. –Rx: Avoid tight/closed narrow footwear & prolonged standing. Use soft wide toe-box footwear with forefoot support. Pada abhyanga with lukewarm Ksheerabala taila / coconut oil at night. Mild cold fomentation if burning increases. -Gandharvahastadi Kashayam – 15 ml with warm water BD before food. -Yogaraja Guggulu – 1 tab BD after food. -Avipattikar Churna – 3 g HS if excess Pitta/heat symptoms present. —Pathya: Warm light diet, avoid excessive spicy, sour, fried foods. Adequate rest; avoid overstrain. —Review: 4 weeks.

In Ayurveda, symptoms like burning pain, inflammation, and sensitivity in Morton’s Neuroma usually indicate a combination of aggravated Vata and Pitta. Burning and inflammation suggest Pitta involvement Nerve pain, tingling, and sensitivity indicate Vata aggravation Helpful Ayurvedic measures: Avoid tight or narrow closed-toe shoes Use soft, cushioned footwear and reduce prolonged standing Gentle foot massage with warm medicated oils like Mahanarayan oil or Ksheerbala oil may help calm Vata If burning is strong, cooling measures and reducing spicy, acidic, and fried foods can help balance Pitta Warm water foot soaks (not very hot) may reduce discomfort Supportive Ayurvedic herbs Ashwagandha Guggulu Shallaki If pain increases, numbness develops, or walking becomes difficult, proper evaluation is important because persistent nerve compression may need more focused treatment along with footwear correction.

Morton’s neuroma is mainly a Vata-Pitta condition. Burning, inflammation = aggravated Pitta Nerve pain, tingling, sharp pain = aggravated Vata Take Yogaraja Guggulu 2 tabs twice daily after food Mahayogaraj Guggulu can be used if pain is severe Ksheerabala Taila gentle foot massage at night Warm water foot soak with Dashamoola decoction 10 min daily Avoid tight closed shoes, high heels, prolonged standing Use soft wide toe footwear and metatarsal pad Reduce spicy, sour, fried foods to calm Pitta If numbness increases or walking becomes difficult, consult an orthopedic/foot specialist because severe neuroma may need injection or surgery.

Hello, Morton’s neuroma involves the thickening of the tissue around one of the nerves leading to your toes, causing that distinct “burning” sensation. In Ayurveda, this is often viewed through the lens of Vata (nerve involvement and pain) and Pitta (inflammation and burning sensation). The severe burning sensation and inflammation indicate a Vata-Pitta imbalance. The “Vata” element governs the nerve irritation and the localized pressure, while the “Pitta” element is responsible for the burning heat and the inflammatory response in the joint space. Ayurveda Management 1. Ksheerabala 101 Drops This is specifically targeted for nerve-related pain and burning. Dose: 5 to 10 drops mixed in half a cup of warm milk or warm water, twice daily before food. 2. Pinda Thailam (External Application) A cooling, Pitta-pacifying oil designed for burning sensations and inflammatory joint conditions. Application: Apply gently over the ball of the foot and affected toes twice a day. Avoid vigorous massaging; let the oil soak in naturally. 3. Kaisore Guggulu Helps reduce inflammation in the small joints and manages the accumulation of Pitta in the extremities. Dose: 2 tablets twice daily after food with warm water. Immediate Lifestyle Adjustments Since your symptoms flare up with closed-toe shoes and long standing: Metatarsal Pad: Use a small pad under the ball of your foot to spread the metatarsal bones and take pressure off the nerve. Footwear Change: Switch to shoes with a wide “toe box” to prevent the compression that triggers the burning. Cold Soaks: Soak your feet in cool water (room temperature, not ice-cold) infused with rose water or a pinch of sandalwood powder to pacify the Pitta-driven heat.

Your symptoms do sound consistent with Morton’s neuroma/nerve irritation, especially since burning increases with closed shoes and long standing. The good part is your pain is still mild and manageable, which means conservative treatment often helps and surgery is not always needed. From an Ayurveda perspective, this can involve vata (nerve pain) with some pitta/inflammation component because of the burning sensation. What helps most: ✅ Avoid tight/narrow toe shoes ✅ Use wide toe-box footwear or soft cushioned sandals ✅ Limit prolonged standing when possible ✅ Foot padding/metatarsal support can reduce pressure Ayurvedic support : Yogaraj Guggulu / Mahayogaraj Guggulu – sometimes used for pain management External application of Mahanarayan taila or Ksheerabala taila with gentle massage If burning/inflammation feels high, your doctor may adjust treatment accordingly Home care: Warm water foot soak (if swelling is mild) Gentle foot stretching Maintain healthy body weight if needed Please consult an orthopedician/podiatrist if: Numbness increases Severe walking difficulty develops Pain becomes severe despite footwear changes Many people improve significantly just by correcting footwear and reducing nerve pressure, so this is often very manageable—there’s definitely hope 🌿

Morton’s Neuroma involves the thickening of the tissue around the nerves leading to your toes. In Ayurveda, the “severe burning” indicates a strong Pitta involvement (inflammation and heat), while the nerve nature of the pain and its connection to pressure/standing points to a Vata imbalance. Since you have been experiencing this for over 6 months, it has reached a stage where the nerve is chronically irritated. You need a dual approach- 1.Kaishore guggulu 2 tab twice daily with water after meals 2.Saptamrit lakh 2 tab twice daily with water after meals 3.Pind taila-massage with warm oil twice daily **Essential “Do’s” ** -Switch Footwear: This is the most critical step. Since closed-toe shoes trigger the burning, your “metatarsal arch” is being squeezed. Switch to wide-toe-box shoes or open sandals whenever possible. -Metatarsal Pad: Use a small gel pad (available at pharmacies) placed just behind the ball of the foot. This spreads the metatarsal bones and takes pressure off the nerve. -Cold Compress: When the burning is severe, use an ice pack or dip your feet in cool water mixed with a tablespoon of -Epsom salt or Sandalwood powder. -Ksheer bala Oil: If the pain feels more like a “sharp electric shock” than just burning, gently massage the ball of the foot with Ksheerabala oil, which nourishes the nerve. Don’ts -Avoid High Heels: These put 100% of your body weight on the exact spot where the neuroma is located. -Don’t “Walk Through the Pain”: If it starts burning, sit down. Prolonged standing during a flare-up thickens the nerve further. -Avoid Spicy/Salty Food: Excess salt and chili can increase the “burning” quality A Simple Home Remedy At night, mix a little Aloe Vera gel with a pinch of Turmeric and apply it to the ball of the foot. Wrap it loosely with a cotton cloth. This cools the Pitta (burning) while the Turmeric reduces the Vata-induced inflammation.
