Since you have rheumatoid arthritis and are taking opioids, continue your prescribed medicines and discuss constipation with your treating doctor as opioid-induced constipation may need specific treatment. Take • Triphala Churna 5 g at bedtime with warm water. • Gandharva Haritaki Churna 3–5 g at bedtime with warm water if constipation is persistent. • Abhayarishta 20 ml with equal water twice daily after meals. Diet and habits: • Drink 2.5–3 liters of water daily unless restricted by your doctor. • Continue fermented vegetables if they suit you. • Increase fruits such as papaya, soaked raisins, figs, and vegetables. • Take 1–2 tsp cow’s ghee with warm milk at bedtime if tolerated. • Do not suppress the urge to pass stool whenever possible. • Walk for 20–30 minutes daily.
