Area of specialization: | I am focused mainly on skin and hair diseases along with gynecological conditions, and this is where most of my clinical energy goes. In daily practice I deal with chronic skin issues, hair fall concerns, hormonal imbalance related problems, and menstrual disorders, using Ayurvedic diagnosis rather than surface-level symptom chasing, which sometimes patients find confusing at first.
I am also actively working in the area of infertility management and garbhasanskar, applying classical ayurveda concepts to support reproductive health and pre-conception care. My approach stays individualized, because every body reacts differntly and standard plans dont always work the same way. I try to balance shastra-based treatment with what is actually possible for a patient to follow in real life, which is not always perfect or linear!!
I am particularly careful about understanding lifestyle, diet, stress patterns, and long-term habits before deciding treatment. Skin, hair, and gynec issues often overlap more than expected, and ignoring that link usually slows results, I have seen this many times. My work keeps evolving as I keep observing outcomes, adjusting, and learning along the way. |
Achievements: | I am proud to share that I recieved Best Paper Presentation at NIMA, which came from sincere academic work rather than any big plan. Presenting my research in front of peers pushed me to look deeper into clinical ayurveda and question my own understanding at many points.
I am also recognized for my work during the COVID period, where I was involved in applying Ayurvedic principles to patient care and support. That phase was intense and uncertain, and results were not always predictable, but the experience strengthened my belief in ayurveda’s role in integrative care, even when conditions felt overwhelming!! |
I am Dr. Komal Dharkar, a BAMS and MD Ayurveda physician, with around 12 years of hands-on experince in clinical ayurveda. I currently run my own practce in Baner, Pune, where I see patients on a daily basis for a wide range of health concerns. Over years, my work slowly shaped itself toward skin disorders and gynecological conditions, not by planning, but by the kind of cases that kept coming back to me again and again. I am deeply involved in managing chronic and recurring skin problems as well as women’s health issues through classical Ayurvedic principles. My approach stays rooted in understanding the root cause, prakriti assessment, and long-term balance rather than quick symptom control, though sometimes patients expect faster results and that can be bit challenging. I work closely with patients to design individualized treatment plans using diet guidance, lifestyle correction, and Ayurvedic medicines, even when progress feels uneven or slow at times. I am currently practicing full-time at my clinic in Baner Pune, and I continue to learn from everyday clinical exposure, because real patients rarely follow textbooks exactly. My focus remains on practical, evidence-informed ayurveda that fits modern life, without overcomplicating things. Patient care, for me, is not just about prescriptions; it is also about listening carefully, explaining things simply, and adjusting treatment when body responds differently than expected!!
