Dr. Surekha Kamath
Experience: | 1 year |
Education: | National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur |
Academic degree: | Doctor of Medicine in Ayurveda |
Area of specialization: | I am MD in Roganidana (Pathology) from NIA Jaipur, a reputed Ayurvedic medical college, where my training focused on deep understanding of disease diagnosis, samprapti (pathogenesis), and clinical evaluation, not just symptom control. During my MD days I handled Skin OPD regularly, seeing a wide range of chronic skin disorders, some very stubborn ones that dont respond easily.
My work also includes practical experience in Panchakarma procedures, leech therapy, and mantra chikitsa, which I use depending on the patient’s condition and strength, not randomly. Roganidana training helps me identify root cause properly, even when reports look normal but patient still suffer.
I tend to observe patterns — digestion, stress, skin, immunity — they are often connected in ways people dont realise. The aim is accurate diagnosis first, then appropriate therapy, whether detoxification, local treatment, or supportive care. Healing takes time, and honestly not every case improve fast, but systematic approach usually works better than trial-and-error methods!! |
Achievements: | I am passed both BAMS and MD with distinction, which honestly required consistent academic focus over many years, not just last-minute study. I secured AIAPGET Rank 134, allowing me to obtain a seat at the National Institute, something I worked very hard for and still feels unreal sometimes. I also recieved a prize at a state-level competition conducted by Ayurveda Academy, Bangalore, which was encouraging at that stage of training!! These milestones reflect my strong foundation in Ayurvedic medical science and clinical learning, even though learning never really stops. |
I am a Consultant Doctor at Dhanvantari Chikitsalaya, Ujire, and earlier worked as a Resident Medical Doctor at NIA Jaipur, where I got deep clinical exposure to classical Ayurvedic practice and integrative care. My main focus is on skin diseases, female gynaec issues, and chronic gut disorders, which I see very frequently in daily practice, though each case behave differently and needs personal attention. I usually follow a minimum-medicine policy, because I belive long-term healing comes from correcting lifestyle, diet, sleep, and mental stress rather than depending only on drugs. Many patients come after trying multiple treatments, feeling confused or tired, and we work step by step to stabilise things, not rushing but not ignoring symptoms either. I also provide counselling for marriage-related concerns and sex life issues, since these areas often get neglected or people feel shy to discuss them openly. Sometimes the physical problem and emotional strain are mixed together, you cant separate them neatly. My training includes Panchakarma therapies, leech therapy, and mantra chikitsa, which I use selectively when indicated, not as a routine for everyone. In addition, I am experienced in clinical yoga prescribed for specific diseases — not general exercise classes, but targeted practices tailored to the individual condition and body capacity. I try to keep consultations practical, honest, and understandable, even if the situation is complicated or slow to improve. Healing is not always linear, but with the right guidance and patient effort, meaningful change is definately possible.
