Experience:
6 years
Education:
Govt Ayurveda College Trivandrum & SDM College of Ayurveda Hassan
Academic degree:
Master of Surgery in Ayurveda
Area of specialization:
I am mainly working with ano rectal disorders, that means piles, fissure in ano, fistula, pilonidal sinus and even perianal abscess which are not easy for patients to talk about openly. In my practice I use ayurvedic surgical methods like ksharasutra and agnikarma, both are proven to be less invasive but very effective when done right. Over time I also manage cases like varicose veins, chronic wounds, corns, non healing ulcers that dont always respond well to normal allopathic treatmnt. My style is not only about removing the problem but also understanding root cause, pain control and long term recovery. Many times I combine internal herbal meds, local applications, dietary corrections along with minor surgical interventions, depends on prakriti and stage of disease. I prefer personalised plan rather than just one fit protocol, even small change in daily routine or food habit can affect healing. Honestly I feel my role is not just treating disorder but guiding patient toward lasting relief, and making sure they dont feel alone in this whole journey!!
Achievements:
I am grateful that my work in ayurveda has found space in two peer reviewed medical journals, writing those papers took time n lot of effort but I felt it was worth cause evidence based practice matters. I also presented papers in national n international confs, sometimes nervs kick in but sharing my clinical exp with wider community felt important. These chances helped me connect, discuss, sometimes argue too, but all of it pushed me to keep refining my approach toward patient care!!

I am Dr Subimol P R, working as an ayurvedic surgeon and consultant proctologist, most of my days revolve around patients coming with ano rectal disorders like piles, fistula, fissures or chronic anorectal problems that refuse to go away with routine care. I rely on classical ayurvedic surgical methods, mainly Ksharasutra therapy, also minimal invasive ways that are deeply rooted in the traditional science I studied. For me, surgery in Ayurveda is not just cutting or tying, it is part of a whole system where internal medicines, diet, lifestyle changes all join together to give lasting relief. Over time my practice slowly spread to musculoskeletal issues, varicose veins, chronic non healing ulcers—conditions many patients bring after trying multiple treatments without much success. I focus on identifying prakriti, disease stage, and lifestyle patterns before finalising any plan. Some days that means herbal meds and therapies, other times it is surgical procedure, but always the aim is long term healing not just quick symptomatic relief. I also belive trust n transparency are non negotiable, I take time to sit with patients, listen to the root complaints, guide them step by step. Sometimes progress feels slow but when a patient finally gets better and says their quality of life improved, that is the true reward. My goal is not only to treat but to help patients live sustainable wellness, prevent recurrence, and feel more comfortable in daily routine. Ayurveda gives me this wide scope to blend classical knowledge with present clinical needs. I keep learning, updating skills, because even though tradition guides me, modern healthcare demands precision and empathy together. Recognition from patients matters more than anything else, but I also value the chance to show that ayurvedic surgery is practical, effective, and professional when done with care. Each case keeps me humble, reminding me that healing is ongoing work, never really complete!!
