Dealing with ringworm, especially when it's been persist for several months, can be frustrating. In Ayurveda, skin issues like ringworm are often associated with imbalances in the doshas, particularly an imbalance in Pitta and Kapha. The itching that worsens during dinner might hint at an underlying pitta imbalance, possibly aggravated by the digestive process. Here's some ways to approach this: First, we should tackle the root cause from an ayurvedic perspective. Try to opt for a diet that pacifies Pitta and Kapha. You should increase intake of cooling, slightly astringent and bitter foods. Include green leafy vegatables, gourds like bitter gourd, and spices such as turmeric and cumin may help in balancing these doshas. You could sip on coriander or fennel tea to aid digestion and calm pitta. Regarding food to avoid, reduce spicy, oily, and fermented foods, as well as sugar and dairy—these tend to aggravate both Pitta and Kapha imbalances. To manage the ringworm locally, applying a paste of turmeric and water on the affected area can be beneficial. Turmeric is well-known for its anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. Leave it on for about 20 minutes before washing it off, do this once or twice daily. Neem oil, another powerful antifungal natural remedy, may also be applied gently to your ringworm patches, preferably before sleeping for an overnight treatment. Blood purification in Ayurveda can be therapeutic, you might consider taking a herbal supplement like Manjistha which helps in purifying blood and detoxifying skin. Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting on any herbal supplements. Lifestyle plays a key role. Ensure your garments are loose-fitting and airy to allow your skin to breathe, avoiding synthetic fabrics as they can trap heat and exacerbate irritation. Stress management via yoga or meditation can also play an incredible role in balancing your doshas. If the ringworm persists or anyone feels uncomfortable, please seekmedical advice from a dermatologist. It's crucial to ensure there isn't a deeper underlying issue that requires immediate attention.
