Hello So, you’ve got some bad pain in your right knee, and it sounds awful. It gets worse when you’re sitting or lying down, and it goes all the way down to your calf and hip. No swelling, but it’s a deep, constant pain that’s keeping you up at night. AYURVEDIC UNDERSTANDING From an Ayurveda view, it seems like nerve-related pain mainly caused by Vata. Basically: – Vata is acting up. – It’s like your knee and hip joints, plus the nerve path, are getting dried out and irritated. – The pain goes from your hip down to your knee and calf. – Sitting or lying there makes it worse 'cause Vata gets worse when you’re resting and cold. – Since there’s no swelling, it’s probably not arthritis or anything like that, just pure nerve pain from Vata. The goal here is to: – Calm down that Vata. – Help your nerves and joints feel better. – Lessen the pain and stiffness. – Keep it from turning into long-term sciatica or arthritis. – Get you moving again. AYURVEDIC PLAN INTERNAL MEDICATION: 1. Yograj Guggulu 2 tablets, twice a day after your food 2. Maharasnadi Kashaya 20 ml, twice a day after meals. 3. Dashmoolaristha 1 capsule, twice a day. 4. Ashwagandha Churna: ½ tsp at night with warm milk or water. These things should: – Bring down nerve inflammation. – Lube up your joints. – Chill out Vata. – Make that pain go away. What to do: Do this every day: – Warm oil massage on your hip, knee, and calf. Use Mahanarayan Taila – Then, put something hot on it. Really important for nerve pain. HOME REMEDIES – Put a warm sesame oil pack on your knee. – Drink ginger tea. – Take 1 tsp of castor oil at night twice a week. Food: – Eat warm foods – Rice, dal – Cooked veggies – Ghee – Milk Don’t eat/drink: – Cold drinks – Ice – Dry foods – Junk food – Stay up late Way of Life: – Don’t sit for too long. – Take easy walks. – Don’t sit on the floor. – Keep your knees and back warm. When will you feel better? – The pain should go down in about a week or so. – The pain that goes down your leg should get better in 3–4 weeks. – You should be all good in 6–8 weeks. If you treat it now, this pain can totally go away. Don’t wait on it—nerve pain from Vata can turn into long-term sciatica if you do nothing. Take care! Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate
