Namaste, Triphala is a traditional Ayurvedic herbal combination commonly used to support digestion and regular bowel movements. When taken in the proper dose and for a limited period, it is generally considered safe. Unlike strong chemical laxatives, Triphala usually works gently by supporting digestion and bowel movement, rather than forcing the colon to empty. Simple points to understand: Short-term use of Triphala is generally not known to cause dependency in most people. However, taking any laxative for a very long time without addressing diet and lifestyle may not solve the root cause of constipation. Constipation can often be related to low fiber intake, dehydration, stress, or irregular eating habits. Simple measures that may help: Drink adequate warm water throughout the day. Include fiber-rich foods such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Maintain regular meal timings and physical activity like walking or yoga. Try to develop a regular bowel routine, preferably in the morning. Ayurvedic medicines sometimes used to support bowel regularity include: Triphala Churna – traditionally used to support gentle bowel movement and digestion. Avipattikar Churna – sometimes used to support digestion and reduce acidity-related constipation. Consult me for more advice and suggestions on the above medicines.

And also Difference between chemical laxative and triphala Chemical laxative -Irritates the colon -Cause the bowel to rely on stimulation -Lead ro long term dependency Triphala works differently -Improves digestion -Softens stools naturally -Promotes regular bowel So it is considered much safer to longer use PROPER WAY TO TAKE IT For constipation Take 1 tsp of triphala powder with warm water at bed time Start with 1/2 tsp and adjust gradually Results will be seen gradually within a few days IMPORTANT TIPS triphala works best when combined witb LIFESTYLE correction Constipation usually happens due to -Irregular eating habits -Low fiber diet -Inadequate hydration -Stress or poor sleep Correct this factors if you have any SIMPLE TIP FOR BOWELS -Drink warm. Water in morning -Include fiver rich food -Add 1 tsp of ghee in warm milk at night -walk for 20-30 minutes daily When used correctly triphala does not weaken the colon or create dependency instead it gently supports digestive balance and promotes healthy bowel Wishing you a good health 😊 Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

–Triphala is a gentle herbal remedy that can help with constipation. It usually doesn’t cause dependence or make your colon muscles weak if used in the right amount. To be safe, use it in small doses and not continuously for a long time, and combine it with plenty of water, fiber, and exercise.

Dependency Concerns - Modern laxatives (like senna or bisacodyl) can cause dependency if used long-term, because they overstimulate the colon muscles. - Triphala is different: it tones and nourishes the colon rather than weakening it. In fact, Haritaki is known as a “Vatanulomana” (Vata-balancing herb) that supports natural bowel movement. - There is no evidence that Triphala causes colon muscles to become loose or dependent. Instead, it helps restore balance when digestion is sluggish. Lifestyle Tips for Constipation - Drink warm water throughout the day. - Add fiber-rich foods (vegetables, flax seeds, soaked raisins). - Practice yoga poses like Pawanmuktasana and Malasana. - Regular sleep and stress management are crucial — poor sleep worsens constipation.

HELLO, In Ayurveda, Triphala is considered a mild bowel regulator, not a harsh stimulant laxative. When used in proper does not weaken colon muscles or cause dependency. It actually helps restore normal bowel movement by improving digestive fire and gently cleansing the intestines. Long term excessive use of strong purgatives can cause dependency , but Triphala in moderate dose is generally safe UNDERSTAND THE ROOT CAUSE Constipation usually occurs due to Vata aggravation in the colon leading to dryness and sluggish movement of stool COMMON TRIGGERS -irregular meals -low fiber diet -excess tea, coffee -stress and late nights -low water intake -sedentary lifestyle DIET MANAGEMENT MOST IMORTANT INCREASE -warm water throughout the day -Fiber fooods= oats , whole grains, soaked raisins, figs -Vegetables= bottle gourd, spinach, pumpkin -Fruits= papaya, soaked black raisins, ripe banana -1-2 tsp ghee In warm milk at night AVOID -dry foods chips, biscuits -excess tea, coffee -cheese and processed foods -very spicy Fried food -skipping meals SIMPLE MEDICATIONS 1) TRIPHALA CHURNA= 1 tsp with warm water at bedtime 2) ISABGOL HUSK= 1 tsp in warm water at night if stools are very hard 3) WARM MILK + GHEE before bed for lubrication of intestines These help soften stool and stimulate natural bowel movement DAILY LIFESTYLE ROUTINE -Drink 1-2 glasses warm water immediately after waking -Try to ass stool same time every morning -30 minutes daily walking or light exercise -avoid suppressing natural urge to pass stool YOGA -pawanmuktasana -malasana -vajrasana after meals These improve intestinal motility EXPECTED IMPROVEMENT= usually within 5-10 days if diet and lifestyle are corrected DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU
