Doctors' responses

1.Cold wind and indoor heating remove natural oils from skin. This can cause: Dark knuckles or fingers Rough skin Cracks or dryness 2. Chemical Exposure Frequent contact with: Detergents Dishwashing liquids Sanitizers can irritate the skin and cause pigmentation. 3. Vitamin Deficiency Sometimes dark fingers happen due to: Vitamin B12 deficiency Iron deficiency 4. Friction or Frequent Washing If you wash hands many times daily, skin becomes dry and darker. 5. Insulin Resistance (less common but possible) Dark knuckles can sometimes be related to Acanthosis Nigricans, but usually this appears thick and velvety. What You Can Do (Simple Treatment) 1. Moisturize Frequently Use thick cream 3–4 times daily. Good options: Nivea Cream Vaseline petroleum jelly Aveeno hand cream Apply especially before sleeping. 2. Wear Gloves When: Washing utensils Using detergents Going outside in cold weather 3. Simple Natural Remedy (Safe) At night apply: Mix 1 tsp aloe vera gel 2 drops coconut oil pinch turmeric Apply on fingers for 20 minutes daily. This helps: reduce pigmentation repair dry skin 4. Gentle Scrub (2–3 times/week) Mix: sugar honey few drops lemon Massage lightly for 2 minutes then wash. 5. Ayurveda Option (Good for skin) You can apply: Kumkumadi tailam Nalapamaradi tailam Massage lightly before bath. 6. Nutrition Add in diet: almonds milk green vegetables fruits These improve skin pigmentation. ✅ Usually improvement occurs in 2–3 weeks if the cause is dryness.
