Foods & Drinks to Avoid (Pitta Body + IC)— - Spicy foods: chili, mustard, pickles, vinegar. - Acidic fruits: citrus (orange, lemon, grapefruit), tomatoes, pineapple. - Fermented foods: alcohol, wine, kombucha, aged cheese. - Caffeine: coffee, strong tea, energy drinks. - Fried/oily foods: pakoras, chips, fast food. - Processed sugars: sweets, chocolates, bakery items. These foods aggravate Pitta (heat, acidity) and irritate the bladder lining, worsening IC symptoms. Safer Foods for You— - Cooling fruits: apple, pear, watermelon, muskmelon, papaya, pomegranate. - Vegetables: cucumber, bottle gourd, pumpkin, spinach, lettuce. - Grains: rice, oats, barley. - Proteins: moong dal, masoor dal (well-cooked, not spicy). - Drinks: coconut water, barley water, herbal teas (fennel, coriander, mint). Lifestyle & Routine— - Hydration: Drink 2–2.5 liters of water daily, but avoid overhydration. - Yoga: Gentle poses like Padmasana, Makarasana, Mandukasana strengthen pelvic region. - Stress management: Meditation and pranayama (Sheetali, Anulom Vilom) calm Pitta. - Avoid suppression of urges (urination, bowel movements) — this worsens Apana Vata imbalance.
