–A weak LES allows acid and gas to move upward Gas buildup → excessive belching Acid irritation near throat → cough (especially when lying down) Nighttime symptoms → reflux worsens when flat —These often matter more than what you eat: Eat smaller meals (avoid stomach overfilling) Finish dinner at least 3 hours before bed Eat slowly → reduces swallowed air (helps belching) Avoid lying down or bending after meals –Rx 1)Kerala Ayurveda Avipathi Choornam ½–1 tsp with warm water morning empty stomach + bedtime 2)Kerala Ayurveda Hinguvachadi Gulika 1 tab after meals (twice daily) 3)Kerala Ayurveda Mustharishtam 15 ml + equal water after meals (twice daily) ---- Advice Early dinner (before 8 pm) No lying down for 3 hrs after food Avoid tea, spicy, fried food Sleep on left side, head elevated —Course Continue 4 weeks, review after 1 month

Namaste, Acid reflux with weak LES, belching, and night cough usually happens when stomach acid moves upward due to poor digestion and valve weakness. Simple measures that may help: Eat small, frequent meals and avoid overeating. Avoid late-night meals; keep a gap of 2–3 hours before sleep. Avoid tea, coffee, chocolate, citrus, spicy and fried foods. Sleep with head slightly elevated to reduce night reflux. Do not lie down or bend immediately after eating. Include light foods like rice, moong dal, boiled vegetables, and buttermilk with cumin. Manage stress and maintain regular sleep, as it worsens reflux. Since symptoms are severe and long-term, continue follow-up with your gastroenterologist. Ayurvedic medicines (Kerala Ayurveda) that may support relief include: Kerala Ayurveda Avipathi Choornam – traditionally used to support acid balance and reduce burning. Kerala Ayurveda Guluchyadi Kashayam – sometimes used to support digestion and reduce inflammation. Consult me for more advice and suggestions on the above medicines.

• Guluchyadi Kwath (200 Ml) - Kerala Ayurveda (Guluchyadi Kwath 200 Ml) — x3 • Avipathi Choornam (50 Gm) - Kerala Ayurveda (Avipathi Choornam 50 Gm) — x3

Your symptoms of long standing reflux excessive belching night time cough and diagnosis of weak LES indicate that the problem is not just acidity but improper closing of the valve along with weak digestion and upward movement of gastric contents In such cases the focus is on improving digestion reducing gas formation and supporting proper downward movement so that reflux episodes reduce gradually Avipatti churna half teaspoon twice daily after food helps reduce acidity and burning sensation Gandharvahasthadi kwath 15 ml with equal water twice daily before food helps regulate bowel movement reduce gas and supports proper downward movement Astha choornam half teaspoon twice daily with warm water helps reduce bloating belching and improves digestion Along with medicines certain habits are very important avoid lying down immediately after meals keep a gap of at least two to three hours between dinner and sleep take early light dinner avoid overeating and very large meals Avoid triggers like tea coffee spicy fried sour foods chocolate and carbonated drinks even if not obvious as they relax the LES further Sleep with head slightly elevated this helps prevent night reflux and coughing Eat slowly chew food properly and avoid talking while eating as excess air swallowing increases belching Since the condition is chronic improvement will be gradual over few weeks but with consistent routine and treatment reflux episodes coughing and belching can reduce significantly
