Hello, You’re dealing with a chronic cervical spondylosis pattern (Vata-dominant with muscle spasm + stress headaches). Since medicines gave only temporary relief and physiotherapy helped, Ayurveda should focus on vata balancing + muscle relaxation + nerve nourishment + posture correction External treatment most important Morning/evening daily 1) Mahanarayan taila -warm slightly and massage neck + upper back (left side focus) -duration= 10-15 mins -follow with hot fomentation (steam or hot towel)-> reduces stiffness immediately Internal medicines For vata + pain + nerves -Dhanwantaram gulika= 1 tab twice daily after meals -Ksheerbala 101 capsules= 1 cap twice daily after meals =excellent for nerve weakness +stiffness + chronic cases For headache (vata + stress related) -Anu taila= 2 drops in each nostril in morning =helps cervical related headaches Simple home add-ons -drinks warm water avoid cold exposure -add 1 tsp ghee daily **Avoid -AC direct airflow on neck -mobile/laptop long bending -sudden jerks or heavy lifting Essential exercises (continue physiotherapy style) Daily very important since PT helped you -neck isometric exercises -shoulder rolls -upper back strengthening -avoid aggressive yoga twists Sleep correction -use thin pillow or cervical pilow -sleep on back or side (avoid stomach) Important Since you have -recurrent episodes -headaches -relief from PT but relapse This is chronic vata aggravation, so consistency (minimum 6-8 weeks) is key What to expect -week 1-2= stiffness reduces -week 3-4 = Pai frequency decreases -week 6+ = stability improves, fewer relapses Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you

Hello dear, It sounds incredibly frustrating to deal with persistent pain for nine months, especially when you’ve already cycled through muscle relaxants like Eperisone and nerve modulators like Gabapentin/Methylcobalamin without lasting relief. The stiffness (Stambha) in the upper back and left side indicates Kapha obstructing the movement of Vata (Avarana). The headaches you are experiencing may not be true migraine, but rather Vatika Shirashoola referred from the cervical spine. To treat this after the “failure” of long-term NSAIDs, the focus must shift from suppressing inflammation to Snehana (oleation) and Brimhana (nourishing) the degenerated discs. Internal Medications 1. Myaxyl Capsule: This is a potent anti-inflammatory. Take 1 capsule twice daily after food with warm water. It helps reduce the acute “flare-up” feeling without the gastric irritation of Aceclofenac. 2. Kshirabala (101) Avartti Capsules: This is crucial for the chronic, degenerative aspect. It is a fortified version of Kshirabala taila that nourishes the nerves and strengthens the cervical vertebrae. Take 1 capsule twice daily (morning and evening) with warm milk or warm water. 3. Varunadi Kwath Liquid: Since you mentioned stiffness and upper back involvement, this helps clear the “stiffness” (Kapha) and improves micro-circulation.Take 15ml liquid with 45ml lukewarm water on an empty stomach, about 30 minutes before food. External Application 1. Myaxyl Oil: Apply this specifically to the left side of the neck and the upper back (trapezius area). 2.Kottamchukkadi Tailam: If the stiffness is dominant in the morning, mix this with Myaxyl oil. Apply warm, leave for 30 minutes, and follow with a warm water bath or a hot water bag (Nadi Sweda). Therapeutic Advice for a Fellow Practitioner Dose Duration: Since this has persisted for 9 months, do not expect a “quick fix.” Commit to this medicine for at least 6 to 8 weeks to see a structural change in the Vata levels. The “Migration” Headache: Once the neck stiffness subsides, you will likely find the headaches diminish. Avoid “Migraine” specific vasodilators if the pain is actually cervicogenic.

Hello I understand how frustrating it is when cervical spondylosis pain and stiffness keep coming back even after taking medicines and therapy. In your case, this is a chronic Vata imbalance affecting cervical spine and surrounding muscles, leading to stiffness, pain, and associated headaches. Recurrence happens when the area remains weak and strained. The focus should be on reducing stiffness, strengthening muscles, and preventing recurrence. Start with Yograj Guggulu 1 tablet twice daily after food Mahayograj Guggulu 1 tablet twice daily after food Dashmool Kwath 15 ml with equal water twice daily before food Daily external care is very important. Do gentle oil massage with Mahanarayan taila on neck and upper back followed by mild heat. Avoid bending, heavy lifting, and long screen time. Maintain proper posture and use a firm pillow with good neck support. Continue physiotherapy but keep it gentle, not aggressive. If headache or stiffness increases again frequently, a cervical spine evaluation (X-ray or MRI) is helpful to assess disc condition. With consistent care, stiffness and recurrence reduce gradually. Warm Regards Dr Raghuveer SN

Your condition fits chronic cervical spondylosis (greeva vata) with recurrent stiffness, mild pain, and headache. Since physiotherapy helped, continue a combined Ayurvedic + lifestyle approach. Treatment (short plan) internal medicines Mahayograj Guggulu 1 tab twice daily after food Dashmoolarishta 15 ml + water, twice daily Ashwagandha churna 3–5 g at night with milk external (very important) apply Mahanarayan Taila daily on neck & upper back followed by hot fomentation lifestyle + exercise continue physiotherapy / gentle neck exercises avoid bending neck (mobile/laptop) use thin pillow take breaks every 30–40 min for headache Nasya (2 drops anu taila morning) keep hydrated, avoid skipping meals if available panchakarma: greeva basti + sweda (best for long-term relief)
