Yes, Ayurveda can support your son, but it should be used alongside his current psychiatric treatment, not as a replacement—especially with violent manic episodes. Ayurvedic Understanding This condition relates to Manas Roga with imbalance of Rajas–Tamas + Vata-Pitta aggravation, affecting mind stability, sleep, and behavior. Treatment Approach (Supportive) 1. Internal Medicines (under supervision) Brahmi + Shankhpushpi → calm mind, improve clarity Manasmitra Vatakam → mood stabilizing, reduces aggression Saraswatarishta → supports emotional balance 2. External Therapies (Very effective) Shirodhara (medicated oil pouring on forehead) Abhyanga (full body oil massage) Takradhara (for Pitta calming) These help reduce irritability, anger, and improve sleep Ayurveda Hospital Stay Yes, inpatient (stay) treatment is available in many Ayurvedic hospitals where: Daily therapies (Shirodhara, Panchakarma) are given Routine, diet, and behavior are monitored You can consider reputed centers like: Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala Jiva Ayurveda Patanjali Ayurved Hospital Lifestyle (Very Important) Strict sleep routine (10 pm–6 am) Avoid: screen overuse, late nights, stimulants Daily calming practices: meditation, pranayama Reduce stress triggers as much as possible

For bipolar condition with occasional violent episodes, inpatient Ayurvedic care can help, but it requires time + discipline + combined approach. Duration of Stay Minimum: 2–3 weeks (initial calming & detox) Ideal: 4–6 weeks (better stability + routine correction) Follow-up: medicines + lifestyle for 3–6 months Mental disorders need gradual healing, not quick cure. Best Places (India) You can consider reputed centers with supervision: Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala – very authentic, strong in Panchakarma Jiva Ayurveda – good for integrated care & follow-up Patanjali Ayurved Hospital – affordable inpatient programs Choose a center with psychiatric case experience + inpatient facility

Yes your son needs Ayurved treatment under medical supervision. It’s advisable to admit him your nearest Ayurved Hospital.

Ayurveda can be supportive as an adjunct, especially for: Sleep regulation Stress reduction Anxiety / irritability Digestion and routine balance General emotional stability and Yes, some Ayurvedic hospitals offer supervised inpatient stay programs for: Panchakarma-based stress management Routine correction Diet therapy Yoga / relaxation Sleep restoration support But for bipolar disorder with aggression, treatment should ideally be coordinated with a psychiatrist. If severe symptoms are active, psychiatric admission may be safer than Ayurvedic stay alone.

Hello, Dealing with Bipolar Disorder (Vatunmada in Ayurveda) is incredibly challenging, especially when a loved one is in denial and experiencing violent manic episodes. Ayurveda can be a powerful supportive therapy. In Ayurveda, mania is often viewed as an aggravation of Pitta (aggression/heat) and Vata (instability/movement) affecting the Manovaha Srotas (channels of the mind). Ayurveda Medicine help byStabilizing the Nervous System: Reducing the intensity of “highs.” Which is often the first thing to fail during mania. Procedures like Virechana (purgation) help clear the Pitta heat that fuels violence. Inpatient care (staying at a hospital) is highly recommended for bipolar cases. A controlled environment allows for Panchakarma, which cannot be done effectively at home. Treatment can take Usually 14 to 28 days. Shirodhara (oil pouring on the forehead) and Thalam (medicated paste on the crown) are specifically used to calm violent or agitated behavior. Most reputable Ayurvedic hospitals in Kerala or Gujarat will work alongside his current psychiatric medication. Do not stop his Western medicine abruptly, as this can trigger a severe manic rebound. Based on traditional protocols for calming Vata-Pitta imbalances in the mind: 1. Manasamitra Vatakam: 1 tablet twice daily. This is the gold standard for mental health in Ayurveda, used to reduce agitation and improve sleep quality. 2. Saraswatharishtam (with Gold): 15 ml mixed with 15 ml lukewarm water, twice daily after food. It acts as a brain tonic and helps stabilize mood. 3. Kalyanaka Ghritam: 1 teaspoon with warm water on an empty stomach in the morning. Medicated ghee is essential for “lubricating” the nervous system and grounding the patient. 4. Brahmi Thailam: For external application. Gently massage on the scalp daily to help cool the head and reduce the “heat” of manic episodes.

Yes—Ayurveda can help as a supportive therapy, but it should not replace his current psychiatric (allopathic) treatment, especially with violent manic episodes. What Ayurveda can realistically do * Improve sleep stability * Reduce anxiety, irritability, stress triggers * Support nervous system balance (vata–pitta calming) * Help with routine and behavioral regulation 👉 It will not control acute mania alone—that requires his current medicines. ⸻ About your main concern (violence + denial) This is common in bipolar disorder during mania. Focus should be on: * Strict medication adherence * Early detection of triggers (sleep loss, stress) * Safety planning during episodes ⸻ Can he be admitted for Ayurvedic care? Yes, some Ayurvedic hospitals offer inpatient programs (with stay): * Panchakarma-based calming therapies (under supervision) * Shirodhara, Abhyanga, Takradhara (for mind calming) * Structured daily routine 👉 BUT: choose a center that works alongside a psychiatrist, not one that asks to stop Western medicines. ⸻ Safe Ayurvedic support (along with current meds) Keep it minimal: * Brahmi vati – 1 tablet twice daily * Manasmitram – 1 tablet at bedtime (Do NOT add multiple herbs or strong sedatives) ⸻ Lifestyle (very important) * Fixed sleep time (no late nights at any cost) * Avoid overstimulation (screens, loud environments) * Regular meals, no fasting * Gentle activity (walking, grounding routines) ⸻ When to be cautious If you notice: * Increasing aggression * Reduced sleep * Grand ideas / overconfidence 👉 Contact psychiatrist immediately (do not rely on Ayurveda alone) ⸻ Bottom line * ✔ Ayurveda = support + stabilization * ✔ Allopathy = main treatment for bipolar * ✔ Combined approach (carefully managed) = best outcome If you want, I can suggest good Ayurvedic centers that allow integrated care. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)

??? Anulomvilom and Bhramari Pranayam will help. But you have to do it early in the morning only. ? Donot get yourself into any addictions. ? Donot drink tea or coffee or aerated drinks. ? Reduce screen time… No screen in darkness and 1 hour before you sleep. Consume audio form of data rather than visuals before you sleep. Filter the content of data you consume… Let it be spiritual or positive… ?? Drink a glass of buffalo milk daily before you sleep; it will help you get a sound sleep. ?? 100 steps after both meals are must. ?? Eat only home cooked food… Avoid outside food, packed and processed food. ?? Prefer natural liquids like fruit juice, coconut water, lemon juice, kokum sharbat over packed ones. ?? Medication: ?? Panchendriya Vardhan Tailam 2 drops in each nostril early in the morning empty stomach. Cap. Memorin(S.G.Phytopharma) 2 caps twice a day before food. Syp. Prasham 4 tsp at bed time with lukewarm water. Tab. Manasmitra Vatak 2 tabs at bed time This will help but remember it is a slow process and will take time
