Knee pain with swelling and reduced joint space in a diabetic patient (55–60 yrs) usually corresponds to osteoarthritis with inflammation. Ayurvedic management aims to reduce Ama, improve joint lubrication and control pain. Ayurvedic treatment Yogaraja Guggulu 1 tablet twice daily after food with warm water Rasnasaptaka Kashayam 15 ml with 30 ml warm water twice daily before food Shallaki (Boswellia serrata) extract 300–500 mg twice daily after food Punarnava Guggulu 1 tablet twice daily after food if swelling is prominent External support: Warm Dashmoola oil gentle massage over knee followed by mild steam once daily Diet advice Avoid curd, excess sugar, refined foods, cold and heavy foods. Prefer warm, light, easily digestible meals.

Yes, Ayurvedic treatment may help support knee swelling, stiffness, and inflammation in a diabetic patient, especially when there is “less gap” (joint space reduction/osteoarthritis type changes). However, treatment should be gentle and properly supervised because diabetes and fluctuating sugar levels can slow healing and increase inflammation. In Ayurveda, this condition is commonly related to Vata aggravation in the joints along with inflammation and degeneration. Supportive Ayurvedic Measures Warm oil massage with Mahanarayan oil or Dashmool oil followed by mild hot fomentation may help stiffness and circulation. Gentle knee exercises and short walks are better than prolonged sitting. Avoid cold foods, excessive curd at night, and very dry or processed foods. Maintain healthy weight and stable blood sugar, as uncontrolled diabetes can worsen joint inflammation. Rx 1. Sahacharadi kwath tab - 2 tab twice a day after meal 2. Tab glymin - 1 tab twice a day after meal 3.Myaxyl cap - 1 cap twice a day after meal

Daily apply Dhanwantaram Taila to knees and expose to sun for 20 mins, preferably early morning and later hot water. Along with that medicine like 1. Cap. Dhanwantaram 101 (1-1-1 before food) 2. Chandraprabha vati (1-1-1 after food) 3. Rasnasaptak Kashaya (1-1-1) after food 4. Varunadi Kwath (10ml -0- 10ml after food with water) 5. This condition is due to Vata-Kapha imbalance with Ama, causing swelling, stiffness, and pain in the knee. In Diabetes Mellitus, healing is slower and symptoms like numbness or tingling can also be present. 🌿 Treatment Approach The aim is to reduce inflammation and Ama first. In this stage, oil application is avoided, and lepa (herbal paste) is used. Once swelling reduces, oil therapy can be added for stiffness. 💊 Medicines Mahayograj Guggulu – 1 tablets twice daily after meals Nishamalaki Churna – 1 teaspoon twice daily before meals Dashmool Kwath – 15 ml with equal warm water, twice daily before meals Shallaki – 1 capsule twice daily Palsineuron – 1 tablet once daily after meals (for nerve support) 🌿 Lepa Rasnadi Lepam apply locally (rasnadi churna mixed with lukewarm water) Keep for 20–30 minutes only, then wash 🏃 Lifestyle Avoid long sitting, start gentle walking, and do mild knee movements daily without strain. 🍽 Diet Take warm, light food. Avoid curd, cold, fried, and heavy items. Include ginger, turmeric, and simple meals. ⚠️ Advice Maintain good sugar control. Mudraadi marma kashayam 10ml—0—10ml + 80 ml of boiled cooled water 45 minutes after breakfast and 45 minutes after dinner For 90 days. Diet- 1.
