Sindhu, In Ayurveda, hiatus hernia and acid reflux are mainly related to aggravated Pitta and disturbed Vata, which weaken digestion and allow acid to move upward. With proper treatment, diet correction, and lifestyle discipline, many children experience significant improvement and long-term control of symptoms. In mild to moderate cases, the condition can sometimes become nearly symptom-free, but results depend on the size of the hernia, digestion strength, age, and consistency of care. Ayurvedic Management Approach Focus on strengthening Agni (digestive fire) without increasing acidity. Reduce irritation and inflammation in the stomach and food pipe. Improve digestion and prevent upward movement of acid. Support natural healing of the digestive system. Helpful Ayurvedic Remedies Yashtimadhu (Licorice) – soothing for reflux and throat irritation. Shatavari – cooling and healing for excess acidity. Avipattikar Churna – helps control acid and improve digestion. Kamdudha Ras / Praval Pishti – traditionally used for hyperacidity and burning. Ghee in small quantity – can help reduce Pitta irritation. Diet & Lifestyle Advice Give small, frequent meals instead of heavy meals. Avoid spicy, fried, packaged, sour, and very oily foods. Avoid chocolate, bakery foods, carbonated drinks, excess tomato, and citrus if they trigger reflux. Do not allow lying down immediately after meals. Keep dinner light and at least 2–3 hours before sleep. Sleeping with the head slightly elevated may help. Encourage warm homemade food and adequate hydration. Important If symptoms are severe, persistent vomiting, weight loss, breathing difficulty, chest pain, or swallowing difficulty occurs, regular follow-up with a gastroenterologist is important along with Ayurveda. With consistent Ayurvedic care, proper diet, and lifestyle regulation, many patients achieve very good symptom relief and improved quality of life naturally

No this can’t be reversed completely, ayurveda can just provide u in this case supportive treatment, if prob is major go for surgery will be the best in this case. – in case of pain u can go with prescribed medication

▪︎Ayurveda is the best option for treatment of hernia. It balances all the three doshas (Vata, Pitta & Kapha).Ayurveda offers combination of herbal products that contain various herbs. These herbs maintains all the signs and symptoms associated with hernia. ▪︎Mahashankh vati-one tablets twice daily with plain water half an hour after meals. ▪︎Chitrakadi vati-one tablets twice daily with plain water half an hour after meals. ▪︎Kanchnaar Guggul-one tablets twice daily with plain water half an hour after meals. ▪︎Vara Churna - One teaspoon twice daily with plain water half an hour after meals. ▪︎Tribulus Power- one capsules twice daily with plain water half an hour after meals. ▪︎Avipattikar Churna- 1 teaspoon twice daily with warm water empty stomach. ▪︎Eat smaller, more frequent meals instead of three large ones to reduce abdominal pressure. Avoid late-night eating, ensuring dinner is finished at least 2-3 hours before sleep.▪︎Foods to Avoid: Strictly limit spicy, sour, salty, and fermented foods. Reduce intake of caffeine, alcohol, garlic, onions, and citrus fruits which can aggravate acid reflux.▪︎Foods to Include: Focus on Pitta-pacifying foods like leafy greens, bananas, apples, pears, and non-acidic cooked vegetables. ▪︎Yoga and Pranayama-Specific postures and breathing exercises like Nadi Shodhana can help strengthen the diaphragm, though they should be practiced under expert guidance to avoid excess abdominal pressure ▪︎If these medicines do not give results, you will have to undergo Laparoscopic Repair surgery. ▪︎Have good health🙏
