Chronic lower back pain for 4 years with stiffness and worsening on prolonged sitting is commonly associated in Ayurveda with aggravated Vata dosha affecting the lower spine and muscles (Kati Pradesh). With proper Ayurvedic care, pain and stiffness can improve gradually and naturally. Ayurvedic Treatment Yograj Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily after meals with warm water. Helps reduce pain, stiffness and joint inflammation. Dashmool Kwath – 15–20 ml with equal warm water twice daily before meals. Supports muscle relaxation and reduces chronic Vata imbalance. Ashwagandha Churna – 1 tsp at night with warm milk. Improves muscle strength, reduces fatigue and supports spine health. External Therapy Daily gentle massage on lower back with: Mahanarayan Taila or Kottamchukkadi Taila followed by mild hot fomentation for 10–15 minutes. Lifestyle & Posture Care Avoid sitting continuously for long hours. Take small walking/stretching breaks every 30–40 minutes. Practice gentle yoga/stretching: Bhujangasana Makarasana Cat-Cow stretch Sleep on a firm mattress and maintain proper posture. Avoid: Heavy lifting Sudden bending Cold exposure and late-night waking Excess dry, cold or processed foods Diet Advice Include warm nourishing foods like: ghee in small quantity, sesame, garlic, methi, turmeric milk.
