Since your compression fracture was one year ago and you are already taking Vitamin D3, walking, yoga, and physiotherapy, occasional pain on prolonged standing may be due to residual weakness, muscle strain, or age-related degeneration. Take Apply Mahanarayana Taila or Dhanwantaram Taila warm over the lower back and massage gently for 10–15 minutes daily. Lakshadi Guggulu – 2 tablets twice daily after food with warm water. Ashwagandha Churna – 3 grams with warm milk at bedtime. Continue calcium and Vitamin D3 as advised by your doctor. Avoid prolonged standing, heavy lifting, and forward bending
In Ayurveda, post–compression fracture back pain (old injury with “Asthi & Majja dhatu” involvement) is usually managed with gentle Vata-pacifying external oleation (Abhyanga) rather than strong deep massage. Most suitable Thailams for you 1. Dhanwantharam Thailam Best for post-injury, bone, muscle weakness and stiffness Helps reduce Vata dryness and supports tissue healing Very safe for daily gentle application in elderly care 2. Mahanarayana Thailam Excellent for chronic back pain and spinal support Improves circulation, reduces stiffness after standing Gives strength to back muscles 3. Ksheerabala Thailam (101 or regular) More soothing and nerve-calming Helpful if pain is associated with tiredness, sensitivity, or nerve irritation Good for elderly Vata imbalance How to use (very important) Warm the oil slightly (lukewarm only) Apply gently on lower back for 10–15 minutes Light circular strokes only (no deep pressure) Follow with hot water bag or warm towel for 10 minutes Do this once daily or 4–5 times/week Important advice (for your condition) Since you had a compression fracture, avoid: Deep tissue massage or forceful pressing Overstretching in yoga Standing continuously for long periods Instead: Continue physiotherapy and walking (very good for healing) Take frequent posture breaks while standing Strengthen core gradually Ayurvedic understanding This condition is mainly “Vata aggravation in Asthi (bone) region after trauma”. So the goal is: Snehana (oil nourishment) + Ushna (mild warmth) + stability to the spine
