can understand your concern—at 17, sudden or one-sided hair fall can feel very worrying, especially when it has been going on for more than 6 months. The good thing is that in most cases at your age, this is reversible with the right correction and consistency. From what you describe (right-sided, severe shedding, no other symptoms, generally good health), the most likely causes are: early hormonal shift with increased Pitta influence on scalp, nutritional deficiency (especially iron, B12, or protein imbalance even in “balanced diet”), localized scalp circulation difference or friction habit (sleeping on one side, phone/head pressure), and stress-related hair cycle disturbance. Pure “Pitta imbalance” alone is rarely the only cause—we usually see a mix. About your herbs: Amla, Bhringraj, black sesame (kaala til), and Praval panchamrit can help, but they work only when used correctly and consistently. For internal support: Bhringraj tablet or powder: 500 mg twice daily after food with lukewarm water for 8–12 weeks (supports hair follicle strengthening and reduces shedding cycle) Amla churna: 1 tsp daily with water or honey in morning (helps Pitta balance + improves iron absorption indirectly) Praval Panchamrit: 1 tablet once daily after dinner (useful if there is subtle calcium/mineral imbalance or heat symptoms) External treatment is very important: Bhringraj + Amla oil massage 3–4 times per week, gently on scalp (not vigorous rubbing) Leave for at least 1–2 hours before washing Avoid very hot water on scalp Diet & lifestyle: Increase protein: milk, paneer, dal, sprouts Add iron-rich foods: spinach, jaggery, dates Avoid very spicy, oily, junk foods (increases Pitta) Sleep on time very important for hair cycle recovery Avoid tight hairstyles and sleeping always on one side Precaution: Since you have “severe and localized” hair fall, if you notice patchy bald areas or widening scalp visibility, get a basic check for CBC, ferritin, thyroid (TSH). Recovery is gradual—initial reduction in fall in 4–6 weeks, visible regrowth in 3–4 months with consistency.

••In Ayurveda, hair loss is primarily classified under Khalitya, which is heavily driven by an imbalance of Pitta Dosha. When Pitta (the fire element) increases in the body, it accumulates at the hair roots (roma koopa), scorching the follicles and leading to premature shedding and thinning. ••The short answer to your question is: Yes, your chosen combination is excellent and structurally very logical for a Pitta-dominant individual. However, because your shedding is asymmetrical (mainly on the right side), we need to look at both internal nutrition and external localized factors to completely resolve it. ••Evaluating Your Ayurvedic Formulation Your selection shows a deep understanding of Dravyaguna (Ayurvedic pharmacology). Here is why this combination works so well to address the root cause of your Khalitya: ••Bhringraj (Eclipta alba): Universally crowned as Keshya (hair-nourishing) and Keshranja. It directly acts as a Pitta-Samana (Pitta calmer) and penetrates deep into the scalp to cool down the metabolic fire. ••Amla (Emblica officinalis): A potent Rasayana (rejuvenator) that is extraordinarily high in Vitamin C. It is one of the few sour fruits that is actually Pitta-hara (reduces Pitta) because of its sweet post-digestive effect (Vipaka). It strengthens the roots. ••Kala Til (Black Sesame Seeds): According to Acharya Vagbhata, Til is excellent for Keshya benefits. It provides the essential Snigdha (unctuous) quality and calcium required to nourish the Asthi Dhatu (bone tissue), of which hair (Kesha) is considered an un-upadhatu (byproduct). ••Praval Panchamrit Rasa/Powder: This is an incredible addition. Because it is a calcium-rich, herbo-mineral formulation containing coral (Praval) and marine shells, it is highly alkaline. It acts as a powerful Amlapitta cleaner, neutralizing the sharp, acidic nature (Tikshna and Amla guna) of aggravated Pitta in your blood (Rakta Dhatu). ••The Pathological Nuance: Right-Sided Hair Loss In clinical practice, asymmetrical hair loss usually signals that localized factors are complementing your internal Pitta imbalance. While your internal mix cleanses the blood, consider these possibilities for the right-sided dominance: ••Sleeping Posture: If you consistently sleep on your right side, the mechanical friction against the pillow can weaken the hair shafts on that side, especially if the hair roots are already weak due to Pitta heat. ••Blood Circulation / Habitual Touching: Sometimes, leaning on the right hand or scratching a specific spot unconsciously causes localized inflammation. ••Modern Trichology Check: At 17, unilateral or localized thinning can sometimes mimic early traction alopecia or localized seborrheic dermatitis. Ensure your right scalp is free of localized dandruff, redness, or itching. ••Clinical Recommendations & Protocol To get the absolute best results from your remedies, they need to be prepared and consumed with the right carriers (Anupana). 1. Internal Administration ••The Churna Mix: Mix equal quantities of Amla powder, Bhringraj powder, and crushed Kala Til. Take 3 grams (about half a teaspoon) of this mix twice a day. ••The Praval Panchamrit: Take this under strict dosage—usually 125 mg to 250 mg (a small pinch) twice daily. ••The Carrier (Anupana): Consume these with warm cow’s ghee or honey after meals. Ghee is the ultimate Pitta-Samana medium and helps carry the lipid-soluble active components of the herbs straight to the tissues. 2. External Regimen (Sthaniya Chikitsa) Internal herbs take time to process through your digestive fire (Agni). To protect your right scalp immediately: Apply a cooling oil like Maha Bhringraj Taila or Brahmi Amla Taila. ••Crucial Rule for Pitta: Do not vigorously massage your scalp. Aggravated Pitta makes roots fragile; rough massage will cause more hair to fall out. Gently pat and press the oil onto the right side using your fingertips. ••Dietary Triggers to Avoid Your herbs will struggle to clear the heat if you continue adding fuel to the Pitta fire. Strictly reduce: Excessive red chilies, hot spices, and deep-fried foods. Fermented items (like stale curd or vinegar). Late-night sleeping, which directly increases Vata and Pitta and disrupts hair tissue regeneration.
