Fatty liver (especially non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) is often associated with excess weight, insulin resistance, diabetes, high triglycerides, and dietary factors. The most effective measures are weight management, regular exercise, and dietary correction. Take Arogyavardhini Vati – 1 tablet (250–500 mg) twice daily after meals with lukewarm water for 6–8 weeks. Punarnavadi Kashayam – 15–20 ml with equal water twice daily before meals. Bhumyamalaki Churna – 3 g twice daily after meals with warm water. Diet and lifestyle: Avoid alcohol completely. Reduce sugar, sweets, soft drinks, fruit juices, refined flour, and fried foods. Follow a diet rich in vegetables, salads, whole grains, and legumes. Exercise at least 30–45 minutes daily. Aim for gradual weight loss if overweight.

••From an Ayurvedic perspective, fatty liver condition is understood primarily as Yakrit Roga involving Medoroga (fat metabolism disorder), heavily driven by an imbalance of Pachaka Pitta and Kledaka Kapha, which impairs Agni (the metabolic fire) at the tissue level (Dhatvagni). ••When Agni is sluggish, Ama (undigested toxic byproduct) accumulates alongside excess Medas (fat) in the Yakrit (liver). Therefore, the treatment methodology always focuses on Deepana (igniting the digestive fire), Pachana (digesting toxins), and Lekhana (scraping away excess fat). ••1. Core Ayurvedic Herbal Supports Classical single herbs and formulations focus on removing Srot अवरोध (channels blockage) in the liver: ••Bhumi Amla (Phyllanthus niruri): Arguably the most potent single herb for liver rejuvenation (Yakrit Rasayana). It reduces oxidative stress, balances Pitta, and assists the liver’s natural detoxification pathways. ••Katuki (Picrorhiza kurroa): A bitter herb (Tikta Rasa) that acts as a powerful Bhedana (purgative of stagnant bile) and clears excess Kapha and fat from the liver tissue. ••Kalmegh (Andrographis paniculata): Excellent for Yakrit-Uttejana (stimulating liver function) and regulating bile secretion. Classical Formulations: Standard clinical protocols often include Arogyavardhini Vati (which combines Katuki, Shuddha Shilajit, and Triphala to scrape away fat), Punarvavadi Mandoor (especially if there is mild fluid retention or sluggish circulation), or Kumaryasava. 2. Dietary Management (Ahara) Dietary modification is the cornerstone of reversing a fatty liver. A healthy plate must focus on reducing simple carbohydrates while increasing fiber and bitter elements to balance Kapha and Pitta. ••Grains to Choose: Swap refined flour and white rice for Purana Shali (aged old rice), Yava (barley), and Kodrava (millets). Barley is explicitly Lekhana (fat-scraping) in nature. Vegetables: Focus on bitter and pungent vegetables like Karvellaka (bitter gourd), Patola (pointed gourd), and bottle gourd. Spices for Agni: Use Ardraka (ginger), Maricha (black pepper), Haridra (turmeric), and Jeeraka (cumin) to stimulate Dhatvagni. Avoid heavy, oily, deep-fried, and highly processed foods (Guru and Abhishyandi ahara). 3. Lifestyle Modalities (Vihara) Regular Vyayama (Exercise): Daily physical activity is essential to burn excess Medas. Brisk walking, cycling, or yoga postures like Dhanurasana and Ardha Matsyendrasana stimulate abdominal organs. Avoid Diva-Swapna (Daytime Sleeping): Sleeping during the day directly increases Kapha and Medas, worsening fat accumulation in the liver. Panchakarma Consideration: If the accumulation is deep-seated, a structured course of Virechana (therapeutic purgation) after proper Snehana and Swedana is highly effective at clearing excess Pitta and toxins from the hepatic system.

A fatty liver means an excess of heavy, sticky fat (Meda) and mucus (Kapha) has built up around it. This extra bulldup puts out your liver’s natural fire, making it sluggish and creating toxic waste (Ama) that clogs its channels. To fix this, we will focus on three simple steps: 1. Kindling the fire: Boosting your digestion to burn off toxins. 2. Scraping the fat: Clearing away the sticky, accumulated fat from the liver. 3. Recharging the liver: Using natural herbs to stimulate, protect, and restore your liver back to its normal, healthy function. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 1) Arogyavardhini Vati -2 tablets twice a day, after meals. 2) Phalatrikadi Choorna - 2-3 grams twice a day, 30 minutes | before meals. 3) Kumaryasava 15-20 ml with an equal quantity of water, twice a day, after meals. 4) Bhumi amlaka- 3 gm powder twice a day 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Include bitter, pungent, and astringent tastes in the diet. Use light, easily digestible grains like old rice, barley (Yava), and millets. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Consume bitter gourd (Karela), bottle gourd (Lauki), pointed gourd (Parwal), and use spices like turmeric, ginger, cumin, and fenugreek seeds to stimulate Agni. 👇👇👇👇👇👇 Drink lukewarm water throughout the day to support toxin elimination (Ama-pachana). 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Strictly avoid heavy, deep-fried, greasy, and highly processed foods. Cut down on bakery products, refined sugar, and excessive dairy (like heavy creams and sweets). 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Avoid daytime sleeping , which strongly increases Kapha and Meda. Minimize sedentary habits and alcohol consumption entirely. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Engage in 30-45 minutes of moderate physical activity daily (e.g., brisk walking) to help burn excess Meda. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 Practice specific Yoga asanas that stimulate the abdominal organs, such as Kapalbhati Pranayama, Mandukasana, and Ardha Matsyendrasana
