For someone experiencing persistent rashes and itching despite taking cetrizine, it’s likely there’s an imbalance in your doshas and your body’s agni. Rashes and itching can often point towards aggravated Pitta dosha, which needs cooling and calming remedies, along with addressing other possible factors like Rakta dhatu imbalance.

First thing’s first, let’s talk about diet: 1. You want to avoid heating foods. This includes spicy, acidic or sour foods like chilies, pickles, and fermented items. Focus instead on cooling foods - so more cucumber, coriander, and coconut water into your meals could help soothe that aggravated Pitta. 2. Stay hydrated with plenty of water, but avoid anything ice-cold; lukewarm is often your best bet for keeping the digestive fire in balance without igniting Pitta. 3. Including foods rich in antioxidants such as green leafy vegetables could support your skin health.

Now, let’s focus on some practical lifestyle changes: 1. Try taking a refreshing bath with neem leaves or turmeric powder; just dissolve one of them into your bathing water. Both hold anti-inflammatory properties and help calm the skin. 2. Use coconut oil or sandalwood paste on rashes. They not only cool but also moisturize the skin, which can relieve that constant itching. 3. Avoid staying in direct sunlight for long periods as heat exacerbates Pitta dosha symptoms.

Daily practices could also help: 1. Consider practicing yoga, focusing on calming poses or pranyama like anulom vilom, the gentle breathing exercise that may stabilize your state. 2. Regular abhyanga, or oil massage, with cooling oils such as Brahmi or Chandan, can nourish but also pacify heightened Vata, which could be causing the itching.

If these home strategies aren’t effective or if symptoms worsen, it’s paramount you seek advice from a health professional who could provide a tailored plan or look into other underlying issues. While Ayurveda does offer a wonderful holistic approach, don’t hesitate to incorporate treatments from all fields as necessary for your overall well-being.
