Dr. Umesh Rajendra Patil
Experience: | 2 years |
Education: | Nallasopara Ayurved Medical College |
Academic degree: | Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery |
Area of specialization: | I am mainly focused on chronic joint pain and diabetes care in Ayurveda, those two keep coming again n again in my daily practice.. and honestly they both need more than just symptom control. I look at every patient with a different lens, sometimes knee arthritis feels simple but when you see stiffness in mornings, swelling, fatigue, then I know I must bring in Panchakarma along with herbal support. With diabetes I dont stop at sugar numbers, I try to see digestion, sleep, food habits, stress, all together. Many cases respond only when diet and lifestyle change go hand in hand with medicines, otherwise result dont last. My approach is not rigid, I adjust the plan as body shows reaction, sometimes I add Rasayana herbs, sometimes focus more on cleansing, sometimes only lifestyle if patient cant take heavy therapies. Ayurveda is not just one path, its a combination. I try to avoid quick fixes because long relief come from removing root cause, balancing doshas, and building strength back slowly. Some days patients expect fast relief, and I feel pressure too, but I remind them real healing is step by step. I want my treatments to be safe, sustainable, and side effect free, even if it take little more time than modern shortcut ways!! |
Achievements: | I am happy that I got chance to present a seminar on “Instant Pain Management”.. it was not only about theory but I shared how I actually use Ayurvedic methods for giving quick relief in acute and chronic pain cases. Sometimes patients want fast results and I showed practical tools for that, like herbal combos, local applications, simple panchkarma ideas. Honestly I was bit nervous at first but later felt proud that I could add something useful for patient care strategies and real clinical practice!! |
I am working as an Ayurvedic doctor and honestly the base of my practice was shaped during my time at Nallasopara Ayurved Medical Hospital. Those years gave me a real chance to see patients every single day, not just theory in books. I trained in both Kayachikitsa (internal medicine) and Panchakarma, which means I had to learn how to balance classical medicine preparation with actual patient care. Many days were long, moving between preparing formulations, observing the effect, and then directly applying therapies to patients struggling with pain or chronic disorders. I got solid hands-on training in procedures like Vaman, Virechan, Basti, Nasya and Siravedha, each one showing me how deep Ayurveda can work when done carefully. I also practiced treatments like Agnikarma and Jaloukavacharana, which sound simple in texts but in reality require focus and confidence, especially when treating arthritis, sciatica, skin issues, or even PCOD and Madhumeh (diabetes). Over 2–3 years this exposure made me more and more focused on joint pain management. I started seeing how rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lumbar or cervical spondylosis, and sciatica affect people’s daily life in different ways. Some couldn’t even sit properly, others were stuck with stiffness in mornings. I try to combine Shodhana Chikitsa for cleansing and Rasayana for repair because without both the results don’t last. I learned that every patient comes with a unique Prakriti and Vikriti, so one formula never fits all. In a busy hospital you don’t get much time, but still I pushed myself to read each person’s body pattern and adjust treatments. Some days it worked perfectly, some days I doubted if I chose the right path, but that’s how experience builds. This period taught me not just about therapies but about patient trust, preventive care, and why evidence-based approach matters in Ayurveda too. I continue to use classical wisdom, but with the practical skills sharpened from treating large numbers of cases. My goal remains to help people regain balance, reduce pain, and live more freely without depending only on temporary relief. Even now, every new case reminds me there is more to learn, but I feel confident in the base I carry from those years!!
