BV Pandit Jeevani Syrup - #34697

Andrew

I am dealing with this frustrating issue, and I’m not really sure what to do next. Lately, I've been feeling super off. It started a few months ago when I noticed some unusual changes, like increased fatigue and weird stomach discomfort. I’ve tried a bunch of things like changing my diet and drinking more water, but nothing seems to work. Then my friend recommended BV Pandit Jeevani Syrup, saying it helped her with low energy. I was hesitant at first, cause I've tried supplements before that didn't do much. Anyway, I finally gave in and started taking the syrup a couple of weeks ago. I thought maybe this time it’d be diffrent! But just a few days in, I started having some strange side effects — mostly feeling a bit nauseous and my stomach felt all sorts of weird. Is this normal? Have other people experienced this with BV Pandit Jeevani Syrup? Should I keep taking it even if I feel this way? Or is there a more suitable dosage? Maybe I just need to give it more time, but it’s honestly been kinda worrisome. Any thoughts or advice would be really helpful, thanks!

Doctors' responses

Experiencing side effects after starting a new supplement like BV Pandit Jeevani Syrup is not uncommon, especially if your body is adjusting to something new. Jeevani Syrup is designed to balance energy levels and support digestion, but the experience can vary from person to person. The nausea and stomach discomfort you’re experiencing could indicate that your body is reacting to the syrup, perhaps due to its particular combination of herbs.

Before continuing with it, assess the possibility of an underlying issue. Prolonged fatigue and digestive disturbances may suggest an digestive imbalance or a more specific condition. Consider your current dosha, which can influence your reaction to certain treatments. For instance, if your Vata is imbalanced, herbal formulations might need careful consideration. Ensure that the syrup is appropriate for your body constitution (prakriti).

Taking a smaller dosage might reduce the side effects. Start by halving the recommended dose, and see if your symptoms decrease. Incorporate it with meals to lessen gastric distress.

If the side effects persist, it’s a sign that the syrup might not suit you. Look into dietary adjustments focused on strengthening agni, your digestive fire, such as warm, easily digestible foods like kitchari, and avoiding raw, cold, or very spicy foods. Do gentle yoga or breathing exercises to support your energy levels.

Consult with a certified Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized guidance, considering your full health history and lifestyle.

If the nausea and stomach issues worsen or you develop more severe symptoms, it’s safer to discontinue the syrup and consult a healthcare professional. Always prioritize immediate medical care if your condition seems to be deteriorating.

Your experience with BV Pandit Jeevani Syrup might quite well be due to a mismatch between the syrup’s components and your personal dosha balance. This syrup is typically crafted to enhance vitality and digestion by stimulating agni, the digestive fire, and supporting the sapta dhatus—the body’s tissue systems. However, it’s possible that your symptoms indicate a vissum dosha imbalance. For instance, nausea and stomach discomfort can arise if the syrup’s heating properties aggravate an underlying pitta imbalance, which can often manifest as sensitivity in the stomach area.

Ensuring compatibility with your prakriti—your unique bodily constitution—and current dosha imbalance is crucial in Ayurvedic practice. You mentioned increased fatigue, which could relate to an imbalance in the vata or kapha dosha, while strengthening your agni could indeed help. But if the syrup’s warm, stimulating qualities don’t align with your pitta or current state, this could lead to symptoms like you described.

I’d recommend considering a more individualized approach: consult a qualified Ayurvedic physician who can assess your dosha and suggest appropriate treatment. Meanwhile, observe the symptoms closely. If they persist or worsen, it may be prudent to stop the syrup in consultation with a health professional. And, given your current symptoms, it may be beneficial to incorporate cooling, calming foods like cucumber, coconut water, or buttermilk into your diet to soothe possible pitta disturbances. Hydration is key, but balance it with meals to avoid diluting your agni.

If these symptoms ever intensify or cause distress, a medical evaluation could be needed. Always prioritize treatments that align with your body’s specific needs and responses.
