SahasraYogam Aswagandha Tablets - #35050

Victoria

I am really confused and could use some advice. A few weeks ago, I started sometimes feeling really tired and kinda anxious, like my energy just vanished. I've been trying to find something natural to help me cope, since I want to avoid depending on prescription meds. That's when I heard about SahasraYogam Aswagandha Tablets. My friend said they worked wonders for her stress, and I’m thinking maybe they could help me, too. I bought a bottle of the SahasraYogam Aswagandha Tablets and started taking them two days ago. At first, I felt a little jittery, and now I'm not sure if it's because of them or just my usual nerves. I don’t wanna overthink this, but what if I’m taking them wrong?? I saw somewhere you should take them with warm milk or something? Anyway, I feel like I need more clarity on how these SahasraYogam Aswagandha Tablets actually work and if they're safe. Are there any side effects? Should I be careful about something? I also worry about how long it could take before I see any results. Has anyone else had experience where it took awhile to feel a difference? Any help or thoughts would really make me feel better! Thanks a bunch!

Doctors' responses

Aswagandha, known as Withania somnifera, is often used in Ayurveda for its adaptogenic properties, which can help reduce stress and promote a sense of balance in the body. It is considered tridoshic, meaning it can benefit all three doshas - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, though it’s especially stabilizing for Vata. However, each individual’s prakriti (constitution) and vikriti (current state) matter, and self-dosaging can sometimes lead to ineffectiveness or imbalances if not done mindfully.

You’ve mentioned feeling jittery – this could indeed be due to Aswagandha, though it’s more common when doses are either too high or taken in ways that don’t suit your body needs. Typically, it’s suggested to take Aswagandha with warm milk, which may help you avoid digestive discomfort. Milk not only assists in calming Vata tendencies but also allows for better absorption. Try to consume it during Kapha time in the evening (between 6 pm to 10 pm) which may help in better relaxation and sleep quality.

As for side effects, while Aswagandha is generally safe, some individuals do experience gastrointestinal issues or drowsiness. If the jitteriness persists, you might consider reducing the dosage or taking it every other day while monitoring how you feel.

Regarding the effects, everyone’s response time can vary. Some individuals might notice improvement within a week, whilst for others it may take several weeks. Patience is key, and tracking your energy levels and stress over time will help you see gradual improvements. Stay hydrated, maintain a consistent routine, and ensure that your diet is supportive of your overall well-being, emphasizing seasonal, fresh foods to balance your digestive fire (agni).

Take caution if you have conditions like hyperthyroidism or are pregnant - consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner or healthcare provider to ensure Aswagandha is appropriate for you. Keep patient health and provision of safe guidance at the forefront. If things worsen, consider speaking to a healthcare professional promptly.

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is indeed well-regarded in Ayurveda for its adaptogenic properties, helping manage stress and improve energy levels and vitality. It’s often used to balance vata and kapha doshas, stabilizing mental wellness and boosting physical stamina.

Regarding the SahasraYogam Ashwagandha Tablets you’ve started, they can be very effective, but it’s essential to understand how to use them properly. Typically, these tablets should be taken after meals, ideally with warm milk, as this aids in better absorption and synergistically enhances their calming effect. The milk also helps reduce potential gastric irritation, a common issue if ashwagandha is taken on an empty stomach. If your body typically responds with jitteriness, consider starting with lower doses and gradually increasing to the recommended level.

In terms of side effects, ashwagandha is generally safe for most people but some experience mild symptoms like stomach upset, diarrhea, or drowsiness initially. These often subside as your body adjusts. If you continue to feel jittery, it could be helpful to check the tablet dosage and ensure you’re not taking more than advised. It’s uncommon, but sometimes the excitatory properties can heighten sensitivity in individuals who have a vata imbalance. If this persists, consulting with your physician or a skilled Ayurvedic practitioner would be wise.

You might need a few weeks to notice significant changes, as adaptogens can take time to build up in the system. Continue monitoring your response and adjusting as needed.

Balance in lifestyle matters too. Practices like yoga, meditation, or pranayama could complement the tablets by promoting calm and reducing anxiety. These holistic approaches, along with dietary considerations, help in maintaining your dosha balance more effectively.

Be sure to consider an initial consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner who can assess your unique prakriti and suggest a comprehensive wellness plan tailored to your specific needs. This ensures both safety and efficacy in managing your symptoms.
