Hello Sidharth, I can understand your concern regarding pressure and pulling sensation (खींचाव) in the abdomen, shoulders, face, and head — occurring after COVID infection but dont worry we are here to help you out.

✅INTERNAL MEDICATION

1. Cap Ashwagandha (1-0-1 twice daily after meals) – Acts as a Rasayana (rejuvenative), strengthens nerves and muscles, reduces fatigue, and improves sleep.

2. Dashamoolarishta (20 ml twice daily with equal water after food ) – (Excellent for chronic inflammation, stiffness, and pain related to Vata aggravation.)

3. Maharasnadi Ks tab 2-0-2 after food (Works deeply on neuromuscular tissues; reduces tingling, heaviness, and muscular tightness.)

4. GT cap 2 at bed time

✅EXTERNAL THERAPIES (Highly Recommended)

1. Abhyanga (daily oil massage) Use warm Mahanarayan Taila. Massage whole body gently from head to toe followed by a warm water bath. This relaxes the muscles, nourishes nerves, and calms Vata.

2. Swedana (steam therapy) After Abhyanga, mild steam therapy or hot towel fomentation relieves tightness and heaviness in the body.

3. Panchakarma Snehan–Swedan followed by Matra Basti (oil enema) with Ksheerabala Taila / Dashamoola Taila is one of the best long-term therapies for Vata disorders like fibromyalgia.

If there is digestive sluggishness, initial Ama Pachana with Trikatu churna or Pippali may be done.

✅DIET MODIFICATION

Eat warm, freshly prepared meals rich in ghee, moong dal, soups, khichdi, vegetables like bottle gourd, ridge gourd, and pumpkin.

Use spices like cumin, ajwain, dry ginger, and black pepper to enhance digestion and reduce Ama.

Avoid cold, dry, and processed foods — especially refined sugar, bakery items, cold drinks, and refrigerated food.

Avoid fasting, skipping meals, or consuming raw salads frequently.

Drink warm water infused with dry ginger throughout the day to reduce toxins and stiffness.

✅LIFESTYLE AND MIND BODY SUPPORT

Maintain regular sleep — aim for 7–8 hours, avoid late nights.

Do light stretching and yoga such as Shashankasana, Balasana, Viparita Karani, and Pawanmuktasana.

Practice Pranayama daily — especially Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing), Bhramari (humming breath), and Nadi Shodhana for calming the nervous system.

Engage in mild morning walks under sunlight to stimulate Agni and uplift mood.

Keep yourself mentally calm; avoid overuse of electronic devices and excessive mental strain.

✅REJUVENATION (Rasayana Therapy)

After the symptoms start settling, adopt Rasayana herbs to rebuild immunity and strength:

Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) as decoction or tablet to improve immunity and reduce post-viral inflammation.

Amritarishta for restoring energy and supporting liver and immune functions.

Post-COVID fibromyalgia is primarily a Vata–Kapha imbalance with depleted Ojas.

With consistent use of herbs like Ashwagandha, Dashamoola, and Guduchi along with Abhyanga and Basti therapy, most patients experience gradual relief from stiffness, pain, fatigue, and brain fog within 4–8 weeks.

Wishing you a good health😊

Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

The sensation of pressure or tightness in your muscles post-COVID, especially if diagnosed as fibromyalgia, can indeed be a challenging condition. Ayurveda approaches fibromyalgia by identifying dosha imbalances, primarily focusing on Vata disorders since they often manifest through pain, stiffness, and fatigue. Balancing Vata dosha could thus, provide some relief.

First, incorporate warm and nourishing foods into your diet to pacify Vata. Cooked vegetables, whole grains, and spices like ginger and cumin are generally beneficial. Avoid cold, raw, or dry foods as these can aggravate Vata. It’s also good to maintain regular meal times to support your Agni, or digestive fire.

Abhyanga, or Ayurvedic oil massage with sesame or almond oil, is highly recommended. Warm the oil slightly before applying to help relax muscles and relieve tension. It’s best done in the morning, with gentle circular motions. Leave the oil on for at least 15 minutes before bathing.

Practicing calming and grounding activities, such as yoga or meditation, can help balance the mind and reduce stress levels. Simple breathing exercises like alternate nostril breathing (Nadi Shodhana) may also help in calming the nervous system and reducing muscle tension.

Herbs like Ashwagandha and Shatavari have adaptogenic properties and could support muscle relaxation and overall vitality. Begin with low doses, and consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner for specific dosages appropriate to you.

Do remember, fibromyalgia requires ongoing management, and it’s crucial to follow your doctor’s advice. Consider discussing integrated approaches with your healthcare provider, particularly before starting any new treatments or herbs. Lastly, excessive pursuit of self-remedies without supervision isn’t advisable, especially with underlying health issues.

Find yourself a nearby Panchakarma centre and go for Panchakarma procedures. 1. Massage with Ksheerbala Tail followed by Sudation therapy for 10 days.

Avoid - Cold bath, packaged food items, excess sugar, long walks, cold water, sour food items like curd/buttermilk, avoid Paneer/Cheese

Follow - hot water bath, drinking lukewarm water, having short brisk walks, Do Vajrasana daily for 7-8 minutes according to your convenience.

HELLO SIDHARTH,

After recovering from COVID- 19, many people experience long term body pains, stiffness or a constant feeling of “pressure” I the muscles- especially in the shoulders, abdomen, head, and face

Doctors may call this fibromyalgia like syndrome or post viral mylagia

In Ayurveda, this condition can be compared to a vata-kapha vitiated disorder involving Ama (toxic waste or undigested material) and weakness of Mamsa Dhatu (muscle tissue)

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS -Post COVID stress, medicines and irregular digestion disturb digestive fire - This leads to formation of Ama (sticky metabolic toxins) -Ama travels through the body and gets deposited in the Mamsa dhatu (muscles) -This causes heaviness, stiffness and “pressure” sesation -Vata dosha (the principle governing movement and nerves) also gets disturbed-> causing pain, fatigue, poor sleep and mood swings

TREATMENT GOALS -remove ama (detoxify the body) -balance vata and kapha dosha -improve agni(digestion and metabolism) -strengthen mamsa dhatu (muscle tissues) -calm the nervous system and improve sleep -rejuvenate the body
