can grade 2 piles be cured without surgery - #37451

David

I am really struggling with these annoying symptoms related to my grade 2 piles. I’ve tried a few over-the-counter creams and some home remedies my friend suggested, but nothing seems to work long-term. It all started a couple of months ago, and honestly, it’s really affecting my daily life. Like, even sitting at my desk for work is uncomfortable. I’ve read a lot about piles and come across info saying "can grade 2 piles be cured without surgery?" That question is kinda haunting me! I don't want to jump to surgery if I can avoid it, ya know? I had a health check-up last week, and the doctor confirmed they are indeed grade 2 piles. He mentioned lifestyle changes, like more fiber and staying hydrated, but I feel like I need something more effective. I’ve been using sitz baths, and it feels soothing for a bit, but what if there’s something stronger I could do without going under the knife? I’m also wondering about herbal treatments. Like, do those really work or just a waste of time? I read about some Ayurvedic approaches too but can't decide if that might actually help. If anyone has experience with cures for grade 2 piles without surgery, I’d really appreciate your thoughts or any direction on what to explore next! Thanks!

Doctors' responses

When dealing with grade 2 piles, the desire to avoid surgery is common, and thankfully, many find effective relief through Ayurvedic approaches. In Ayurveda, piles, or “Arsha”, primarily arises due to imbalances in the doshas, often an aggravated Vata and Pitta. Addressing these imbalances can significantly alleviate symptoms and, in many cases, manage the condition quite well.

Firstly, consider your diet. Incorporate plenty of high fiber foods like whole grains, vegetables, and fruits to ensure smooth bowel moments. At least 25-30 grams of fiber daily is a target to look forward to. Alongside, hydrate well — aim for 8-10 glasses of water a day to help ease bowel movements and reduce strain which is key in managing piles.

Eating meals at regular intervals is essential to maintain healthy digestive fire (Agni). Spacing your meals also gives the digestive system time to process food efficiently without Vata aggravation. Avoid spicy, fried, and processed foods as they may aggravate Pitta, contributing to discomfort and inflammation. Replace these with cooling and soothing foods like cucumber, watermelon and leafy greens.

Ayurvedic herbs like Triphala can be used to provide gentle laxative effects and promote detoxification. Taking one teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water before bed can aid in regular bowel movements. Additionally, applying Aloe Vera or coconut oil externally can offer soothing effects and reduce irritation.

Yoga and physical activity is very beneficial — exercises like Pavanamuktasana (Wind Relieving Pose) and Vajrasana (Thunderbolt Pose) can improve digestion and regulate bowel motions. However, avoid exercises that strain or put pressure on the anal region.

Ayurvedic medicated oils like Jatyadi Taila can be applied topically to support healing, while Ayurvedic decoctions containing haritaki or Ayurvedic formulations like Abhayarishta may assist in internal strengthening and support.

To address the root, also focus on stress management techniques such as meditation or Pranayama, as stress could compound symptoms.

Always consult a certified Ayurvedic practitioner before starting any treatment to ensure it suits your unique health needs and conditions. Additionally, if symptoms worsen or do not improve, return to your healthcare provider to reassess your options for care.
