how to take shilajeet - #38964
I am feeling really confused about how to take shilajeet. A few weeks ago, I started hearing about it from a friend who swears by its benefits. I tried to do some research, but I got lost in all the info. Anyway, I decided to give it a shot because I’m always tired and my energy levels are just…ugh. I just wanna feel normal again, ya know? I got some shilajeet from a health store, it was like a resin, kinda sticky and dark, and I think I read somewhere that you have to dilute it. But then I saw another article saying you can just take it straight with water. Now, I'm like, am I going to mess it up if I don't take it properly?? I seriously don’t even know if I accidentally got a bad batch or taking too much or too little or...I mean, what exactly is the right dosage? Is there a specific time of day that's best for taking shilajeet? Also, should I be worried about mixing it with other things, like my morning tea or whatever? I really hope I’m not screwing this up, it would be great if someone could guide me. Just feeling a bit lost and want to do this right. Thanks in advance!

To start with, Shilajeet is a potent rasayana (rejuvenator) in Ayurveda, known for its potential benefits in boosting energy, enhancing vitality, and helping combat fatigue. You’ve got a resin form, which is quite common. Typically, this sticky form needs to be dissolved in warm water or milk before consumption. Taking it straight isn’t wrong, but it can be a bit strong and sticky that way.
When it comes to dosages, a pea-sized amount (approximately 300-500 mg) is generally safe for daily use. Begin with a smaller quantity to see how your body reacts, gradually adjusting if needed. It’s best to take it in the morning on an empty stomach with warm milk or water – this can aid absorption and enhance its effects. Mixing it directly with your tea might not be ideal as some kinds of teas have compounds which can interfere with its efficacy.
If taking any medication or if there are pre-existing health conditions, consulting with a practitioner before adding shilajeet or any supplement is advisable. Monitor how your body responds and look for any adverse effects.
As for feeling you’ve got the wrong batch, genuine Shilajeet is dark brown to black, bitter, and has a distinct earthy smell. If what you have doesn’t fit this, it might be worth checking twice. Storing it in cool place, away from sunlight, is necessary to maintain its potency.
Make sure to keep track of your lifestyle and diet too – a balanced regimen amplifies the benefits of any supplement. Rest assured, when used correctly, shilajeet can be a valuable aid in managing fatigue and boosting energy.
