Irregular Periods in My 14-Year-Old Sister - #50930

Client_98e56c

Hello, I want to ask about my younger sister. She is 14 years old. Her periods started, I think, when she was 12. Her periods are irregular. The last time she got her period was, I think, at the end of December or at the beginning of January, but now it is missed. Before that, there was a gap of one month , then it came, and now it has not come. The date has passed but she still hasn’t gotten her period. So what should we do to make it come?

How long has your sister been experiencing irregular periods?:

- 6 months to 1 year

Has she experienced any other symptoms along with the missed periods?:

- No, just missed periods

What is her diet like?:

- Unhealthy, mostly junk food

🌼 Why Periods Are Irregular in Teenagers? In the first 2–3 years after menarche (first period), the body is still adjusting hormonally. Ovulation may not happen regularly, so cycles can be: Skipped for 1–2 months Early or late Light or heavy This is called physiological adolescent irregular cycle — and most of the time it settles naturally. 🔬 When Should You Worry? You should consult a doctor if: Periods stop for more than 3 months Severe acne + excess facial hair Sudden weight gain Severe abdominal pain Very heavy bleeding One or two missed cycles is usually not dangerous. 🍟 Important: Her Diet Matters A LOT You mentioned she eats mostly junk food. Unhealthy diet → Hormone imbalance → Irregular periods At her age, ovaries are very sensitive to: Poor nutrition Stress Weight gain Excess screen time / late sleeping 🌿 What You Can Do Naturally (Safe for 14 Years) 1️⃣ Improve Diet Immediately Add: Home-cooked food Green vegetables Fruits Soaked almonds (4–5) Iron-rich foods (beetroot, pomegranate, jaggery) Reduce: Chips, cold drinks, bakery, Maggi, fried food 2️⃣ Warm Water Therapy Give her warm water morning & evening. It improves circulation. 3️⃣ Gentle Yoga for Period Regulation Ask her to do daily: Baddha Konasana (Butterfly pose) Malasana (Yogic squat) Bhujangasana Setu Bandha Sarvangasana 10–15 minutes daily is enough. 4️⃣ Simple Ayurvedic Support (Mild) If needed, you can give: 1 tsp jaggery + small piece of ginger for 5 days Or warm ajwain water ⚠️ Avoid strong uterine stimulant medicines at this age without proper evaluation. ❗ Very Important Do NOT try: Strong period-inducing medicines Hormonal pills without doctor advice Heavy Ayurvedic formulations like Rajapravartini vati without evaluation Her body is still maturing.

Hi Don’t worry much about her cycles being irregular this soon okay, test her hb level. Include good nutritious food in her diet. Include nuts seeds etc in her diet. Is she gaining weight uncontrollably or developing facial hair or pigmentation around necks? Then she will need medicines. For now let her drink cinnamon tea with ginger and jaggery 3 times daily. If the periods is not starting in 1 week reach out for a thorough consultation and to start medicines
