For bulky uterus with fibroids and diffuse adenomyosis, Ayurveda may help reduce bleeding, pain and inflammation. Take Ashokarishta 20 ml + equal water after food twice daily Kanchanar Guggulu 2 tablets twice daily after food Pushyanug Churna 3 gm with rice water or honey twice daily Dashmoolarishta 20 ml + equal water after food at night for pain and backache For cramps: Warm castor oil or sesame oil on lower abdomen and low back daily. Avoid: Very spicy food, junk food, excess tea/coffee, sour foods during periods. Take: Warm water, pomegranate, black raisins, cooked vegetables, iron-rich diet.

Your symptoms suggest an aggravated Vata-Pitta imbalance with Rakta dushti and accumulation of Mamsa granthi (fibroid growths) in Ayurveda. Diffuse adenomyosis, bulky uterus, heavy bleeding with clots, severe cramps, back pain, and early periods indicate excess heat, congestion, and disturbed Apana Vata affecting the uterus. Ayurvedic Management Approach Ayurveda focuses on: Reducing excessive bleeding Shrinking fibroid tendency gradually Relieving cramps and pelvic congestion Correcting hormonal imbalance naturally Strengthening the uterus and improving energy Helpful Ayurvedic Medicines Kanchanar Guggulu – helps reduce fibroid growth and uterine swelling Patrangasava – useful for excessive bleeding with clots Pushyanug Churna – beneficial in heavy menstrual flow Dashmoolarishta – reduces pelvic pain, lower back pain, and Vata aggravation Lodhra + Nagkesar combinations – help stabilize bleeding naturally If cramps are very severe: Warm castor oil or sesame oil gentle lower abdominal massage may help reduce Vata pain. Diet & Lifestyle Follow a warm, light, anti-inflammatory diet: Prefer warm cooked foods, soups, moong khichdi, cooked vegetables Include pomegranate, black raisins, beetroot, coconut water in moderation Avoid: Very spicy food Excess tea/coffee Sour fermented food Bakery items, junk food, cold drinks Excess stress and late nights During Periods Rest adequately Avoid heavy exercise and lifting weights Use warm fomentation/heating pad for cramps Drink warm fennel or cumin-coriander infused water

Hello, In Ayurveda, this condition is primarily viewed as an imbalance of Vata and Pitta doshas, leading to Rakta Dushya (vitiation of blood) and Granthi/Arbudha formation (muscular growths like fibroids and adenomyosis). The early, heavy cycles indicate increased Pitta (Raktapitta), while the severe spasmodic pain extending to the lower back and thighs points to aggravated Apana Vata (the downward force of Vata). The treatment approach focuses on cooling Pitta to control heavy bleeding, regulating Vata to relieve pain, and using scraping (Lekhana) herbs to reduce the uterine bulk and fibroids. Prescription 1. Kanchanara Guggulu Action: Powerful Lekhana (scraping) action; specific for reducing uterine fibroids and benign growths. Dose: 2 tablets, twice daily, after food with warm water. 2. Asokarishtam Action: Prime uterine tonic; balances Pitta, regularizes the 20–24 day cycle, and controls excessive bleeding. Dose: 15 to 20 ml, twice daily, after food with an equal quantity of lukewarm water. 3. Sukumararam Kwath (or Sukumaram Kashayam) Action: Specifically indicated for severe lower back, stomach, and thigh pain; addresses adenomyosis and regulates Apana Vata. Dose: 15 ml mixed with 60 ml of lukewarm water, twice daily, taken 30 minutes before food (on an empty stomach). While these classical formulations address the root causes, the combination of fibroids and diffuse adenomyosis requires close tracking. If the heavy bleeding patterns persist or trigger signs of clinical anemia, a formal pelvic ultrasound follow-up and internal evaluation are essential to evaluate endometrial thickness and structural changes.

Hello, Your symptoms are very suggestive of Fibroids + diffuse adenomyosis causing -bulky congested uterus -early frequent periods -heavy bleeding with clots -severe spasmodic cramps -lower back/thigh pain -fatigue due to blood loss In Ayurveda, this is commonly associated with -vata aggravation (pain, cramps) -rakta dushti (heavy/clotted bleeding) -kapha mamsa granthi tendency (fibroid growth) -pelvic congestion + apana vata imbalance Important first point Fibroids + adenomyosis can often be managed well symptomatically with Ayurveda, especially -reducing bleeding -reducing pain -slowing progression -improving cycle regularity But -very large fibroids -severe anemia -rapidly enlarging uterus -persistent severe bleeding Still requires gynecologist monitoring Treatment goals -reduce heavy bleeding -reduce uterine congestion/inflammation -reduce crams and cloting -stabilize hormones naturally -slow fibroids growth -improve pelvic circulation Internal medications 1) Kanchanar guggulu= 2 tabs twice daily after meals =classical for fibroids, bulky uterus, glandular overgrowth, pelvic congestion 2) Ashokarishtam= 20ml + equal water twice daily after meals =helps heavy bleeding, early periods, uterine tone, cramps Very useful in adenomyosis tendency 3) Chandraprabha vati= 2 tabs twice daily after meals =reduces pelvic congestion, inflammation, helpful for lower abdominal heaviness/back pain 4) Pushyanug churna= 1/2 tsp twice daily with rice water or honey during periods twice daily =helps excessive bleeding For severe cramps and back pain During periods -Dashmoola kashaya= 20ml twice daily after meals with warm water =excellent for pelvic pain, cramps, thigh/back radiation pain Diet advice (very important) -cooked vegetables -pomegranate -black raisins -sesame in moderation -warm easy to digest meals Avoid -excess sour/spicy foods -packaged foods -red meat excess -cold foods/drinks -excess tea, coffee -refined sugar These worsen -inflammation -clotting -congestion If bleeding is heavy please check -Hemolobin/CBC -ferritin/iron levels Because chronic blood loss commonly causes -fatigue -dizziness -worsening pain tolerance Lifestyle -gentle yoga -pelvic relaxation stretches -walking -stress reduction Stress sinificantly worsens -adenomyosis pain -uterine spasms Avoid -excessive HIIT workouts during periods -sleep deprivation -chronic emotional stress suppression Hlepful home remedy During period painful warm water bag on lower abdomen And -1/2 tsp dry ginger + jaggery in warm water once daily if bleeding not excessively heavy Please repeat -pelvic USG= every 6-12 months -CBC if heavy bleeding -thyroid profile if cycles worsening Expected improvement 6-8 weeks -reduced cramps -lighter bleeding -less pelvic heavuness 3-6 months -cycle stabilization -improved energy -slowing of fibroid progression Adenomyosis usually causes the severe crampingg/pelvic pain , while fibroids contribute more to -bulky uterus -heavy bledding -pressure symptoms Ayurveda works best here by -reducing inflammation/congestion -calming apana vata -controlling bleeding -improving uterine circulation Rather than trying to instantly shrink fibroids Do folloow Hope this might be helpful Thank you

••In Ayurveda, a bulky uterus, uterine fibroids (Garbhashaya Arbuda), and adenomyosis (Garbhashaya Mansavriddhi or Granthi) with heavy bleeding (Asrigdhara) and severe cramps (Kashta-artava) are primarily viewed as a complex vitiation of Vata and Kapha, secondary to Rakta Dusti (vitiation of blood). ••The Kapha dosha causes the abnormal growth, Vata causes the severe pain and structural changes, and Rakta/Pitta dosha drives the heavy, continuous bleeding. Because you are dealing with significant structural changes alongside active hemorrhaging, management requires a strict two-phased approach: immediate management of bleeding (hemostasis) followed by long-term management to shrink the growth and balance the hormones 1.1. Classical Formulation Combinations Bol Parpati: 250 mg Pradrantak Churna / Pushyanug Churna: 2 to 3 grams Sphatika Bhasma: 125 mg Anupana (Vehicle): Take this combination twice daily with Tandulodaka (rice water) or honey 2 Asokarishta + Lodhrasava: 15–20 ml of each mixed with an equal quantity of water, taken twice daily after meals. This provides an excellent astringent 3.Rajahpravartini Vati 1-0-1 after food with normal water .can sometimes aggravate bleeding if given at the wrong time, so for severe pain during heavy bleeding. 4.Kanchanar Guggulu: 2 tablets (500 mg each) twice daily. It is the drug of choice for any glandular or muscular overgrowths. 5.Varunadi Kashayam: 15 ml with warm water before meals. It acts as a potent Lekhana (scraping) drug to reduce the bulky size of the uterus ••Pathya (Favored): Light, easily digestible warm food, old shali rice, mudga (green gram), bitter gourd, pomegranate, and warm water drinking. ••Apathya (Strictly Avoided): Sour, salty, spicy foods (Pitta-Rakta aggravating), curd, deep-fried food, heavy-to-digest meats, and day-sleeping (Kapha aggravating). Physical or mental stress during the cycle must be avoided to prevent Vata vitiation.

Your symptoms suggest strong uterine inflammation and hormonal imbalance due to fibroids + adenomyosis, which is causing early periods, heavy bleeding, clots, and severe cramps. Avoid very spicy, sour, fried foods and excessive stress. During periods, take proper rest and use warm fomentation on lower abdomen/back for pain relief. Medicines: Ashokarishta – 15 ml with equal water twice daily after food Kanchanar Guggulu – 1 tablet twice daily after food Pradrantak lauha – 1 tablet twice daily after food Shatavari churna – 1 tsp with milk at bedtime Support: Pomegranate, black raisins, beetroot regularly Avoid cold foods/drinks during periods With regular treatment, bleeding and pain can gradually reduce. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
