According to Ayurveda, Grade 2 Fatty Liver is commonly associated with an imbalance of Kapha Dosha, accumulation of Meda Dhatu (fat tissue), weakened Agni (digestive fire), and formation of Ama (metabolic toxins). The primary goal of treatment is to improve liver metabolism, reduce fat accumulation, enhance digestion, and support healthy weight management. Ayurvedic Recommendations 1. Dietary Modifications Avoid: Fried and oily foods Fast foods and processed snacks Excess sugar, sweets, soft drinks, and bakery products Refined flour (maida) Excessive dairy products Heavy dinner and late-night eating Prefer: Warm, freshly cooked meals Green leafy vegetables Bottle gourd, ridge gourd, bitter gourd, pumpkin Whole grains like barley, millet, and oats Moong dal and light soups Amla, turmeric, ginger, and cumin in daily diet Plenty of warm water throughout the day 2. Weight Reduction Your BMI is approximately 26.8, indicating overweight status. Even a 5–10% reduction in body weight can significantly improve fatty liver. Aim to lose: 0.5–1 kg per month steadily Avoid crash dieting 3. Physical Activity Since you have a desk job: Brisk walking for 45 minutes daily Yoga for 20–30 minutes Practice: Surya Namaskar Bhujangasana Ardha Matsyendrasana Pavanamuktasana Kapalabhati (if medically suitable) Anulom Vilom 4. Stress Management High stress can worsen digestion and liver function. Practice: Meditation for 15–20 minutes daily Deep breathing exercises Adequate sleep (7–8 hours) Avoid excessive screen exposure at night Rx 1. Aarogyavardhni vati - 2 tab twice a day after meal 2.Bhumyamalaki churna - 1/2 tsp twice a day 3. Punarnava mandoor - 2 tab twice a day after meal 4. Kalmeghasav - 15 ml twice a day Liv-supportive Ayurvedic formulations containing Kutki, Bhringaraj, and Guduchi These herbs help improve liver function, support fat metabolism, and reduce toxin accumulation. For Abdominal Discomfort Drink warm water after meals. Take a small piece of fresh ginger with a pinch of rock salt before meals. Avoid overeating and lying down immediately after food.

●Hello. Looking at your profile a 51-year-old male, weighing 85 kg at a height of 178 cm with a sedentary desk job your Body Mass Index (BMI) sits around 26.8, which places you in the overweight category. In Ayurveda, Grade 2 fatty liver is viewed as a combination of Yakrut Roga (liver dysfunction) and Meda Dhatu Vriddhi (excessive accumulation of fat). Your sedentary lifestyle has slowed down your Agni (digestive fire), causing undigested metabolic toxins (Ama) to accumulate and settle as fat in the liver. To completely reverse this stagnation and clear the fat from your liver tissues, you will need to follow a structured, disciplined Ayurvedic routine consistently for 4 to 5 months. ●Your daily regimen must begin every single morning with a powerful, metabolism-boosting morning detox tea to rekindle your Agni. In a small pan, boil 1 glass of water with 1 teaspoon of grated ginger, ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder, and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Let it simmer gently until the water reduces slightly and the aroma becomes sharp and fragrant. Strain the liquid into a cup and let it cool down until it is pleasantly warm, but not hot. Once warm, mix in 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, and drink it slowly on an empty stomach. This combination scrapes away stagnant fat cells from the liver, flushes out built-up toxins, and jumpstarts your sluggish morning metabolism. ●For targeted cellular healing, we will introduce specific classical Ayurvedic formulations designed to cleanse the hepatic channels and correct lipid metabolism. Take ▪︎Punarnavadi Mandur (1 tablet twice daily before meals) to reduce systemic water retention, ease any abdominal bloating, and optimize blood flow to the liver. After your major meals, take ▪︎Arogyavardhini Vati (2 tablets twice daily); this acts as a direct liver cleanser that burns away excess fat deposits and improves overall liver function. Additionally, take ▪︎Guduchi Satva twice daily mixed with a little warm water to boost your deep cellular digestion, strengthen your immune system, and protect your liver cells from further oxidative stress. ●To ensure that the toxins being scraped from your liver are efficiently eliminated from your body, your digestive tract must remain entirely clear. Every night at bedtime, take 1 teaspoon of Avipattikar Churna with warm water to neutralize acid reflux, balance excessive Pitta, and regulate healthy downward bowel movements. Alongside it, mix 1 teaspoon of Triphala and Isabgol together in warm water to relieve chronic constipation and gently detoxify the gut lining overnight. To keep your metabolism active throughout your desk-bound workday, replace regular tea or coffee with a CCF tea made by boiling 1 teaspoon each of Cumin, Coriander, and Fennel seeds in 2 cups of water, reducing it slightly, and sipping it warm. If you do not suffer from severe hyperacidity, you can also drink a warm cup of Ginger and Tulsi tea in the afternoon to further stimulate fat burning. While these remedies are highly effective, they cannot work in isolation against a sedentary desk job. To truly reverse Grade 2 fatty liver, you must actively assist these herbs by incorporating at least 30 to 45 minutes of brisk walking or light exercise into your daily routine to shed the excess weight. Avoid all heavy, deep-fried foods, processed sugars, refined flour, and alcohol, as they act like poison to an already stressed liver. Focus your diet instead on bitter, astringent, and easily digestible foods like whole grains, leafy greens, and light lentils.

••Pranam. As an Ayurvedic physician, I look at your condition not just as “Grade 2 Fatty Liver,” but as an imbalance of Medas Dhatu (fat tissue) accumulation in the Yakrit (liver), driven by a slowdown of Agni (metabolic fire). ••1. Ahara (Dietary Management) Your diet needs to be Kapha-hara (fat-reducing) and Pitta-shamaka (liver-cooling). What to Include: Grains: Barley (Yava), millets, and old brown rice. Barley is exceptional for scraping excess fat from the body. ••Vegetables: Bitter and pungent vegetables like bitter gourd (Karela), bottle gourd (Lauki), pointed gourd (Parwal), and drumsticks (Moringa). Spices: Turmeric (Haridra), cumin (Jeera), fenugreek (Methi), and dry ginger (Shunti). ••What to Strictly Avoid: Deep-fried, heavy, and highly processed foods (Guru and Abhishyandi foods). Refined sugars, sweets, and alcohol (the absolute worst enemies of Yakrit). Curd/Yogurt at night (it blocks the micro-channels or Srotas). Opt for spiced buttermilk (Takra) during lunch instead. 2. Vihara (Lifestyle Adjustments for a Desk Job) Since you have a sedentary routine, we must introduce movement to stimulate your Dhatu Agni (tissue metabolism). ••The “Desk Job” Rule: For every 45 minutes of sitting, stand or walk for 3 minutes. This prevents Kapha stagnation in the lower abdomen and liver region. Exercise: 30–45 minutes of brisk walking in the morning. ••Yogasanas: Specific postures that compress and stimulate the liver area are highly beneficial. Focus on Kapalbhati Pranayama (10-15 minutes daily on an empty stomach to burn visceral fat), Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Fish Pose), and Dhanurasana (Bow Pose). ••Bhumyamalaki (Phyllanthus niruri) 3 grams powder or 1 tablet twice a day before meals. The ultimate liver-protecting herb in Ayurveda; clinically proven to reverse fatty liver changes. ••Arogyavardhini Vati 1-2 tablets twice a day after meals with warm water. Contains Katuki, which clears bile stagnation, balances Pitta, and removes accumulated fat from the liver. ••Punarnavadi Kashayam 15 ml liquid with 15 ml warm water, 30 minutes before breakfast and dinner. Reduces inflammation and prevents fluid/fat retention in the abdominal organs.
