Lehya
Kerapookuladi lehyam also known as tengin pookuladi lehya, is a herbal jam fromulation. tenga or keram means coconut, pooku means flower.
Its usage:
- Asrukdara-heavy menses leading to dhatu kshaya.
- Menopause, leucorrhea, debility.
- Backache.
Avoid this lehya in case of diabetic patients or given under precaution.
Dosage:
1/2-1tsf with milk or warm water once or as directed by the physician.
Kerapookuladi lehyam ingredients:
Kalka or paste of narikela pushpa(coconut flower)
coarse powder of
japa
bala
jambu-jamun
added with water then kashaya is made, this kashaym is again kept on flame added with jaggerythen when the jaggery is dissolved, it is filtered through a clean white cloth. the filtrate is again boiled to make it thicker consistency of 1-2 threads, ghee is added just before the paka lakshanas. then added with praksepaka dravyas:
chaturjataka, honey is added and stirred well.
