Managing the side effects from your medications is crucial, especially when it affects daily living like this. The stools issue could be from several factors: the medications, changes in diet, or even lifestyle stress. It’s not uncommon for blood sugar and blood pressure medications to sometimes cause digestive disturbances. Rather than directly assuming the role of the liver or suggesting any changes in prescribed medicines, it’s better to manage the situation safely with Ayurveda’s gentle yet effective approach.

Introducing certain dietary and lifestyle modifications can assist. Yashtimadhu (licorice) and Bilva (bael) are known in Ayurveda for aiding digestive health and can help with loose motions. You could prepare a decoction with 2g powdered Bilva fruit in 200 ml water, boil it till its half and take it after lunch. As always, moderation and consistency are key. You might also want to incorporate triphala at bedtime. Just half spoon with warm water or as recommended by a local practitioner can gently regulate bowel health without harsh effects. Drink warm water through the day to assist digestive fire, or agni, while avoiding overly oily, spicy or heavy foods like legumes, which tend to aggravate vata dosha, a potential cause of your symptoms.

Regarding LIV 52, it is generally used for liver support rather than for addressing bowel regularity. While it’s not likely to harm you, its focus might not directly address your stool issue. Continue on Cilacar and Glycomet as prescribed, but do bring up any side effects with your physician to properly explore the need for any medication adjustments if symptoms persist.

Remember the importance of immediate clinical care should the loose motions become severe, or symptoms sharply incline. Timely intervention with your physician will ensure the safest and most effective management of side effects. Practicing regular pranayama or deep-breathing exercises could also help manage stress sometimes associated with high blood pressure and aid in overall health.

Experiencing digestive issues like loose motions can indeed be unsettling, especially if it seems linked to your medications. Loose stools could be a side effect of several medications you’re on. Specifically, Glycomet (Metformin) is known for causing gastrointestinal side effects like diarrhea in some individuals. It’s crucial to review this with your doctor, as they might adjust your dose or suggest alternatives.

Regarding LIV 52, it is generally used to support liver health but may not directly address your current issue with loose stools. While it may benefit overall liver function, it’s not specifically designed for gastrointestinal upset caused by medication. It would be more beneficial to address the root cause of these symptoms.

Here are a few recommendations consistent with Siddha-Ayurvedic principles that might help stabilize your digestion. First, consider adding asafoetida (hing) to your diet, as it can aid digestion and help control occasional loose stools. Mix a small pinch of asafoetida powder in warm water and consume before meals.

Additionally, try consuming a decoction made from cumin, coriander, and fennel seeds. Boil a teaspoon of each in water until it’s reduced to half, then strain and drink it. This can help balance digestion and ease symptoms.

Maintain a regular eating schedule, sticking to warm, easy-to-digest foods. Avoid heavy, oily, or raw foods that might exacerbate your symptoms. And remember to keep good hydration levels, especially if experiencing loose stools.

If these issues persist or worsen, consult your healthcare provider to discuss potential adjustments in your medication regimen. It’s important they adjust any medications if necessary while ensuring your sugar and blood pressure remain well-controlled.
