how to reduce body heat immediately at home - #37579

Gabriella

I am really struggling with this issue of body heat lately. Like, last week, I was at this outdoor event and the sun was just relentless, I felt like I was melting! I started sweating way more than usual and my skin felt super warm, which got me worried. I’ve read a ton about how to reduce body heat immediately at home, but nothing seems to be working out for me! I tried drinking cold water and eating ice cream to cool off, but they only helped for a little while. The other day, I soaked a towel in cool water and placed it on my forehead, it felt nice in the moment but didn’t last long. I’ve also heard that things like mint teas or coconut water can help, but I’m not sure how effective they really are. Is there genuinely a simple and effective way to reduce body heat immediately at home? I live in a pretty hot area, and it’s getting a bit unbearable. Not sure if there are dietary tips or something else I should focus on? Should I completely avoid spicy foods right now? Just feeling kind of lost and hoping for some practical advice that I can actually try at home! Thank you!

To cool down body heat quickly at home, there are simple Ayurvedic remedies that might provide relief. One practical approach is drinking coriander seed water. To prepare, soak a teaspoon of coriander seeds in a glass of water overnight. In the morning, strain it and drink on an empty stomach. Coriander seeds are known in Ayurveda for their cooling properties, which can help balance Pitta dosha and reduce heat.

Coconut water is another excellent remedy. It is light and hydrating, containing essential electrolytes that help calm the body systemically. Opt for fresh coconut water and sip on it during the hottest parts of the day.

You can, of course, include mint tea in your routine. Mint carries a natural cooling effect. Brew some fresh mint leaves in hot water, allow it to cool down, and then drink this herbal tea. You can even apply crushed mint leaves mixed with water on your skin for an external cooling effect.

Regarding diet, avoiding spicy and oily foods is advisable as they may increase internal heat and exacerbate Pitta. Steer clear from stimulants like caffeine, alcohol or hot drinks. Focus on consuming plenty of fresh fruits like watermelon, cucumbers, and cantaloupe, which are naturally hydrating and cooling.

Applying sandalwood paste can provide a soothing and cooling effect externally. Mix sandalwood powder with a little water to make a paste and apply it on your forehead and chest. Once dry, rinse it off with cool water.

Remember to wear lightweight and breathable fabrics like cotton which assist in ventilation and keeps the body cooler. With these steps, you should find some relief in managing heat better. If you experiencing extreme or lasting discomfort though, seek medical advice promptly, as it could be a sign of dehydration or heat-related illness which needs immediate attention.
