how to release heat from body - #39690

Sophia

I am feeling really uncomfortable lately, like there's just too much heat in my body. I’ve tried staying cool and drinking more water, but it seems like nothing's working! I used to just be chilled out and now I feel like I’m a walking radiator. This has been going on for weeks now. It gets worse with spicy foods, which I used to love, but now they feel like torture! The other day, I went for a run thinking it would help, but instead, I ended up feeling even more heated up. Plus, I’ve been sweating so much – like, I thought it was just me, but my friends have started to notice too! I also did some blood tests recently, and everything’s normal, so that’s a relief but still confusing. I keep reading about how to release heat from body using Ayurvedic methods, like cooling herbs or different foods, but I don't know where to start. Can anyone share their experiences or tips on how to release heat from body effectively? Like, what should I eat or do daily? Or is there some routine I can follow? I just want this heat to chill out already!!

Managing internal heat is crucial, especially considering the symptoms you’re eperience. In Ayurveda, excessive body heat is often linked to a Pitta dosha imbalance, manifesting as elevated internal heat and sweating. Pitta is associated with the fire element, and imbalance can arise from factors like diet, exercise and stress.

First, try incorporating cooling foods into your diet. Focus on fruits like melons, cucumbers, and sweet apples. Avoid spicy, sour, or salty foods, which can aggravate Pitta. Instead, opt for foods that are sweet, bitter, and astringent in taste. Dairy products like milk and ghee can also help cool the system, but consume them in moderation.

Herbs such as coriander, fennel, and mint are excellent for cooling the body. You might find relief in taking a glass of coriander water: soak some coriander seeds overnight and strain the water in the morning before drinking it. Aloe vera juice, in modest amounts, can also assist in cooling down your system.

Your exercise routine can be adjusted as well. While staying active is important, vigorous workouts such as running might increase Pitta. Moderate activities like swimming or yoga, especially in the early morning or evening may be more beneficial.

Please also consider incorporating meditation or pranayama into your daily routine, as they can help in reducing stress which might be straining the Pitta further. Sheetali and Sheetkari are specific breathing techniques that are known to be cooling and relaxing.

Lastly, remember to stay hydrated. Water is essential, but you might also benefit from herbal teas like chamomile or licorice.

Always keep monitorring your symptoms, and if they persist, seek advice from a healthcare professional. Adjusting to these changes may take time, but with persistence, you should notice a reduction in your body heat.
