how to identify kidney stone pain - #39655
I am having this really tough time lately — a few weeks back, I started feeling this sharp pain in my lower back, like really intense. At first, I thought I just pulled a muscle or something, but then the pain got worse and started shooting down towards my stomach. A friend mentioned it could be kidney stones, but I have no clue how to identify kidney stone pain! I mean, I’ve never had any issues like this before. I’ve been trying to manage it with heat packs and some over-the-counter pain relievers, but the discomfort keeps coming back. Sometimes it's a dull ache, other times it's like a stabbing sensation and I can hardly find a comfy position to sit or even lay down. Also, I feel like I have to pee a lot but when I go, it’s either not much or just more pain. I’m scared of what this could mean and really want to know how to identify kidney stone pain accurately. Like, are there specific signs or symptoms that I definitely should be looking for? Should I head to the hospital, or is it okay to just wait and see if it gets better? Any insights would help a ton!
