Spleen Size 12.99 cm — Is It a Problem? 📏 Normal Spleen Size Normal adult spleen: Up to 12–13 cm 12.99 cm = Upper limit of normal / very mild enlargement So technically this is borderline splenomegaly, not severe. 🧪 Important Point You said: ✔ CBC normal ✔ Peripheral smear normal ✔ Detected 1–4 weeks ago ✔ Mild discomfort This is reassuring ✅ If blood counts are normal, serious causes like: Leukemia Severe infection Hemolytic anemia are unlikely at present. 🤔 Possible Reasons (Common & Mild Causes) 1️⃣ Recent viral infection (even mild fever in past month) 2️⃣ Fatty liver or mild liver congestion 3️⃣ Body constitution (some people naturally 13 cm spleen) 4️⃣ Temporary reactive enlargement Sometimes ultrasound variation of 1–2 mm is normal. ⚠️ When To Worry? Seek further evaluation if: Spleen >14–15 cm Fever persists Weight loss Night sweats Drop in Hb / platelets / WBC Severe left upper abdominal pain Right now, based on your report → no emergency signs. 🩺 What Should You Do Now? 1️⃣ Repeat Ultrasound After 6–8 weeks to compare size. 2️⃣ Basic Tests (if not done) LFT (Liver function test) Viral markers (if doctor suggests) ESR / CRP 🌿 Ayurveda View Spleen relates to: Rakta dhatu Yakrit–Pleeha vriddhi Pitta + Rakta dushti If mild discomfort: Punarnava Bhringraj Guduchi Light diet But only after confirming no active infection. 🧠 Honest Assessment 👉 12.99 cm with normal CBC = usually mild / reactive 👉 Observe and recheck 👉 No panic required
