I have high vata, due to which my skin remains dry, I love exercise and yoga & I don't want to stop even if they make it better. I have stopped long intermittent fasting and only do it for max 14-15 hours. I eat warm, healthy food. What else should I do to bring Vata down and improve my skin
Namaste, High Vata imbalance can sometimes cause dry skin, dryness in the body, irregular digestion, and sensitivity to lifestyle changes. Since you already follow a healthy routine with yoga, exercise, and warm food, the focus should be on maintaining nourishment and stability. Simple measures that may help: Ensure regular meal timings and avoid long gaps between meals. Include healthy fats in the diet such as ghee, sesame oil, nuts, and seeds to support skin nourishment. Perform regular oil massage (Abhyanga) with warm sesame oil before bathing to help reduce dryness. Maintain good sleep and relaxation, as excess activity and stress can aggravate Vata. Continue yoga but try to balance it with gentle and grounding practices rather than very intense workouts every day. Ayurvedic medicines sometimes used to support Vata balance and skin nourishment include: Ashwagandha – traditionally used to support strength and help balance Vata. Shatavari – sometimes used to support body nourishment and improve dryness. Consult me for more advice and suggestions on the above medicines.
