Plz tell first are the patches on one side of body or both side of body? Or recently what u are using? –It is a non-contagious skin disorder that may progress if not treated early, especially with stress and improper diet. Bakuchi is traditionally used, but only under expert supervision along with controlled external application and sunlight therapy. ---- bakuchi can be used before sometimes it causes ulcer formation which causes more hurt to skin . –Internal Medicines 1) Khadirarishta 15 ml + equal water, twice daily after meals 2) Manjishtadi Kwath 15 ml, twice daily before food 3) Gandhak Rasayan 1 tablet (125 mg), twice daily after food ---- External Application Bakuchi taila / Bakuchi churna paste Apply only on patches, once daily but 4 times diluted with coconut oil → Followed by mild morning sunlight exposure (5–10 min) — Stop if burning/irritation occurs — Lifestyle Advice Reduce stress (important trigger factor) Avoid excess sour, junk, and incompatible food combinations Maintain regular sleep cycle Daily light exercise / pranayama

Hello, White patches on the skin, often referred to as Shvitra in Ayurveda, are viewed as an imbalance of the Bhrajaka Pitta (the sub-dosha responsible for skin color) and a disturbance in the Rakta (blood) and Mamsa (muscle) tissues. The Role of Bakuchi Bakuchi (Psoralea corylifolia) is considered a premier herb for this condition. It contains psoralen, which helps stimulate melanocytes to produce pigment when exposed to sunlight. However, it is highly potent; it must be used carefully to avoid skin irritation or blistering. In the Ayurveda, the focus is on purifying the blood and restoring pigment through internal and external therapies. 1. Internal Blood Purification Mahathikthaka Ghritham: Take 10 ml on an empty stomach in the morning with a little warm water. This medicated ghee helps detoxify the liver and soothe Pitta imbalances. Khadirarishtham: Take 20 ml mixed with an equal amount of lukewarm water twice daily after meals. It is a powerful blood purifier specifically for skin disorders. 2. External Application Bakuchi Tailam (Oil): Apply a thin layer specifically on the white patches. For best results, expose the area to mild morning sunlight for 5–10 minutes after application. If any redness or irritation occurs, dilute it with coconut oil. 3. Systemic Support Kaisore Guggulu: Take 2 tablets twice daily after food. This supports the healing of skin tissues and balances the metabolic fire. Important Considerations Diet: Avoid “Viruddha Ahara” (incompatible food combinations) such as milk with fish or sour fruits. Reduce intake of highly acidic, fermented, and salty foods. Bakuchi is very strong. If you notice any burning or swelling, stop the application and consult a practitioner. Ayurvedic skin treatments typically require 3 to 6 months of consistent use to see visible repigmentation.

White patches spreading for >6 months with stress suggests a chronic skin imbalance in Ayurveda, commonly related to impaired Rakta + Pitta imbalance (often correlated with vitiligo/leucoderma). Bakuchi (Psoralea corylifolia) is one of the main Ayurvedic herbs used, but it is not a standalone cure. It works best with proper internal detox 1. Core herbal support Bakuchi oil or powder (external application carefully, usually with sunlight exposure under guidance) Khadirarishta – helps blood purification Manjistha – improves skin pigmentation and detoxifies blood 2. Important lifestyle correction Reduce stress (very important trigger in your case) Avoid excessive sour, salty, and junk foods Stop milk + fish combination (if taken together) Avoid chemical creams and harsh soaps 3. Diet guidance Fresh fruits, green vegetables Bitter foods (karela, neem leaves in small quantity) Plenty of water and light meals 4. Key caution Bakuchi can cause skin sensitivity to sunlight, so it must be used carefully Since patches are large and spreading, self-treatment is not recommended for long duration

Hello I can understand how concerning this must be for you—especially when the patches are spreading. Please don’t worry, with the right approach and patience, Ayurveda can help manage this condition effectively. About Bakuchi—yes, it is one of the best medicines for white patches (Shwitra). But it is also quite strong in action. If not used properly, it can cause burning, redness, or even blisters. So it should always be used carefully and ideally under supervision. What you can start (internal medicines) Syp. Leukosin – 2 tsp twice daily after meals Bakuchi Ghana Vati – 2 tablets twice daily after meals Erand Bhrasht Haritaki – 2 tablets at bedtime These will help correct the internal imbalance and support skin healing gradually. For local application (important) Bakuchi + Gomutra Arka can be applied locally But please remember: This can cause blister formation Do not apply on your own without guidance Always start under supervision of an Ayurvedic physician Important in your case Since your patches are: Large Spreading Present for more than 6 months You should definitely consider Shodhana Chikitsa (Panchakarma), especially Virechana. This helps treat the root cause and gives better long-term results. Lifestyle support Avoid incompatible foods (milk with salty/sour items) Keep diet light and simple Try to reduce stress (very important in your case) Add a few minutes of calming breathing daily Final note This condition improves gradually, not overnight. First, we aim to stop spreading, then repigmentation follows slowly. Wishing you a quick recovery Hope this helped you.

Hello, For vitiligo in ayurveda, vitiligo is categorised as “switra” or “kilasa” , which refers to skin discolouration caused by an imbalance of doshas, particularly pitta( governs heat, metabolism, and pigmentation ) and sometimes kapha(governs stability and moisture). the disease is considered tridoshaja ( involving all three doshas), but with pitta dominance because pitta controls melanin or pigmentation in the skin. root causes -improper diet- e.g; milk with fish, sour+ milk- viruddha ahara - poor digestion- leads to toxin buildup - emotional stress- aggravates doshas and autoimmune response -long term use of harsh medicines - vitamin and mineral deficiencies(especially b12, d, copper) treatment goal -stop the spread -detox the body -stimulate pigmentation - support long term skin healing -prevent recurrence - stop new spots, re-pigment exist ones, restore confidence and skin health naturally start internally with 1) bakuchi churna- 125 mg once daily slowly increase to 250 mg with honey or ghee in morning = stimulates melanocytes 2) khadirarishta- 20 ml with equal water after lunch and dinner = detoxifies blood, clears skin 3) arogyavardhini vati- 1 tab twice daily after meals = improves liver and metabolism 4) mahamanjisthadi kashaya- 15ml with water twice daily before meals = anti-inflammatory, blood cleanser 5) guduchi tabelts- 1 tab twice a day in morning and night = builds immunity, reduces autoimmune reaction 6) rasamanikya- 65 mg with honey in morning = stimulate pigmentation(best one ) local applications 1) bakuchi taila+ gomutra - apply directly on spots , sit in early morning sun-10 mins, then wash 2) manjistha+ neem+ turmeric+ bakuchi churna paste - make a paste with rose water or aloevera gel apply for 20 mins then rinse = helps purify skin and reduce spread 3) neem oil + coconut oil(50:50)- apply at night = soothes skin, reduces inflammation dietary guidliness to follow strictly avoid -milk+ sour fruits like orange, lemon - milk+ salt or salty snacks - fish + milk -curd, panner- especially at night - fermented foods- bread, vinegar, pickles -junk food, chocolates, cola, chips include -fruits=apple, papaya, pomegranate, jamun, figs -vegetables= pumpkin, ash gourd, spinach, carrots -proteins= moong dal , tofu, soaked almonds, ghee -superfoods= amla, turmeric, black pepper, sesame seeds -buttermilk drink warm water, avoid ice cold drinks. cook fresh food. try to eat at the same time daily. lifestyle and mind management pranayam -anulom vilom= balances all doshas, calms stress -sheetali/ sheetkari- cools pitta, soothes mind -bhramari- calms nervous system and skin other -sleep by 10 pm -morning sun exposure for 10-15 min - avoid exposure to chemical creams, fairness products - try trakata(candle gazing) to stabilise mind and reduce emotional triggers healing timelines 1-2 months= skin health improves, new spots stop 3-6 months= light re-pigmentation starts 6-12 months= visible color returns in patches this all are epilepsy safe drugs do follow consistently to get result hope this might help you wish you a speedy recovery thank you
