For a baby born at 2.2 kg, the expected weight at 6 months is around 4.4–5.5 kg (since birth weight usually doubles by this age), so a current weight of 5 kg is within the normal range, though slightly on the lower side.
The fact that the baby is gaining weight steadily, is moderately active, and has no health issues is reassuring.
However, feeding needs improvement—breastfeeding should ideally be more regular (every 2–3 hours or about 8–10 times a day)
Since the baby has completed 6 months, simple complementary foods like ragi porridge(best as first food for a 6-month-old), mashed banana(best first fruit to introduce to a baby) can be started while continuing breastfeeding. Overall, there is no immediate concern, but improving feeding routine now will support better weight gain going forward.
