A few weeks ago, I went for a routine blood test, and when I got the results, I noticed something strange—my basophils count was slightly higher than normal. I had no idea what basophils even meant before this, but after searching online, I found out that they are a type of white blood cell related to the immune system. But honestly, I still don’t fully understand what basophils' meaning is in terms of health, and whether having high or low basophils is a serious issue. For the past few months, I’ve been experiencing weird allergy-like symptoms. My skin has been feeling itchy randomly, even without any visible rashes, and I’ve been sneezing a lot, especially in the mornings. Sometimes, I feel a strange tightness in my chest, though it’s not severe. Could these symptoms be related to basophils function in my body? I also read that basophils play a role in inflammation—does this mean my body is fighting some hidden infection?
